Tuesday 1-30-24 Dancing A2 in Corsicana

Beautiful Day

We had a beautiful day with sunshine and the high of 75 degrees.

We spent the day in Corsicana dancing A2. We left the house at 7:30 and didn't get home until 4:30. Corsicana is about 100 miles away from our house. On the way there we stopped at the donut shop in Moody. The format was 9:30 to 11:30 dancing, 11:30 to 12:30 lunch and 12:30 to 2:30 dancing. We had a full square and three extra dancers. It was run by computer so everyone had a chance to dance and rest. We hadn't been to this weekly dance in two weeks because of very cold weather the first week and last week it was raining. Dale Smith and Glenn Martin took turns calling the dancing tips. We brought our lunch so we could relax after having lunch. Glenn's birthday was yesterday so he brought fresh chocolate chip cookies and donuts. We snacked on the treats all day. We had a super time dancing with friends.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong before I went to bed. Today I did the event, which was Event: Experts Only of 10 games. I only did 9 of the games. I had played the games for 2 hours, 1 minute and 50 seconds before giving up. This put me in 9th place in my group. 

In the evening we watched Northern Exposure. Then I watched Black Panther and the third episode of the 11th season of Father Brown. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which kept me in 4th place in my group.

Monday 1-29-24 Dancing, Games & More

 

Gorgeous Day

We had another gorgeous day with the low of 37 degrees and high of 70 degrees. There was no wind and we had a lot of sunshine.

Larry was going to paint his jukebox but the primer wasn't setup enough to sand. He's going to wait until Wednesday to paint.

We started the day out by attending Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly C1 dance at 9:00 for an hour. Di called five tips to 18 participants. Larry danced with me. Di worked on Rotate, Reverse Rotate, Tally Ho and on any moves the dancers were having problems with. We had an outstanding time dancing with friends.

 

I played the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. Then I played the event, which was Event: Two Games Tango Mini of 10 games (5 Klondike and 5 Free Cell). It took me 29 minutes and 5 seconds, which put me in 3rd place in my group. Then I moved to Angry Birds. I played a few games of Sudoku.

I played three games of pinball on the pinball cabinet, which were No Fear Dangerous Sports, Theatre of Magic and Who Dunnit. When I played Who Dunnit I entered my initials as the #3 high score. I played four fruit/slots (Lotty Time, Luxor, Mario Kart and Monte Carlo Or Bust) and two arcade games (Pac Man and Popeye). When playing Pac Man I got a score of 7990 and Popeye I got 5000. I think this is the best I have ever gotten in both games.

Larry spent the day working on the pinball cabinet to get the sound to work correctly. He installed a new program on the cabinet, that when you push the button for extra ball the rules for the game shows up. He played some pinball games he hadn't played in a long time. We had a super time playing pinball.

I worked out a half hour with the Wii Fit and a half hour with Gold's Gym.

In the evening we continued watching Northern Exposure. I watched Spider-Man: Homecoming. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 4th place in my group.

 

Sunday 1-28-24 Beautiful Day, Games and Jukebox Project

 

Beautiful day of sunshine

We had a beautiful day with a lot of sunshine and no wind. The started out with the temperature of 34 degrees and the high was 65 degrees. 

Larry worked on the new jukebox. He waited for it to warm up a bit because the next part of the project was painting. After lunch he sanded the pieces of the jukebox he was going to paint including the knobs. He said the knobs were the hardest to sand because of all the grooves. Once he sanded the parts he sprayed primer on the pieces except for the knobs. The paint he put on the knobs had primer in it so he painted them. Tomorrow he will paint the pieces he primed.

I played games. I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Easy Street Mini of 5 games. It took me 7 minutes and 37 seconds, which put me in 19th place in my group. Then I moved onto playing Angry Birds. I also played a few Sudoku games.

Today started the new weekly challenge, No Fear: Dangerous Sports. Last week's challenge was Fun House I ended up coming in 53rd out of 77 participants. I played one game on the new challenge and got a score of 845,500,820. So far the new challenge is a fun game and the sound is great.

I played pinball on both the pinball cabinet and the arcade cabinet. 

On the pinball cabinet I played Red & Ted's Road Show, Rock 'n' Roll Diner, Attack From Mars and Cactus Canyon. I played Attack From Mars because I wanted to challenge Larry for the Grand Champion. I didn't even come close of getting on the board but I had a good game. When I played Cactus Canyon I had an outstanding game and came in 1st high score.

In the evening we finished watching the second season of Northern Exposure and started the third season. I watched the next Marvel movie, which was Black Widow. Then I started watching the fifth season of A Touch of Frost. I ended up doing 17,500 steps, which put me in 1st place in my group for the week with the total of 121,160 steps.

 

 

 

Saturday 1-27-24 Finished Lady and the Tramp, Games & Having FUn

 

Cloudy Morning

Our day started out overcast, By the afternoon the sun came out. The low today was 49 degrees and got up to 56. We had a north wind so it felt colder.

I started the day out by finishing my diamond painting of Lady and the Tramp. It took me four days. The more diamond paintings I do the faster I do them. I find ways that are easier for me to complete the project. I have more of the trays so I can work with more colors at a time. I finished three of the six projects Larry bought me for Christmas.

My new weekly pinball challenge starts tomorrow, it is No Fear: Dangerous Sports by Williams. Larry downloaded the game and installed it. It took him a bit to get it to work but once he succeeded he played the game. He had fun. Then he played Attack From Mars and had a super game. He succeeded in destroying the Martian spaceships for Germany, Italy, England, United States and France. He advanced to Attack Mars. His final score was 11,328,250,840. I didn't play any pinball today.

I played the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event today was Event: Free Cell Adventure of 20 games. It took me 2 hours, 43 minutes and 58 seconds, which put me in 7th place in my group. Then I moved onto playing Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds and Friends.

After lunch we took the Minnie back to storage. 

I worked out with the Wii Fit for a half hour and Gold's Gym for a half hour.

In the evening we continued watching the second season of Northern Exposure. Afterwards I watched Captain America: Civil War and an episode of A Touch of Frost. I ended up doing 17,000 steps, which kept me in first place in my group.

 

 

Friday 1-26-24 Super Day of Pinball, Dancing & Diamond Painting

 

Happy Thursday

We had a laid back day of having fun. The day started out with thick fog and the temperature of 48 degrees. It finally lifted around lunchtime. It got up to 54 degrees. The rain came back in the evening.

Larry spent the day working on our two Godzilla games. They both shared the same ROM. He made aliases for the two games. When he wrote the aliases he had to wipe the scores off the board. The limited edition Godzilla (Marty's game) he changed the sound to one that had a lot more sound. It sounds super and you can feel the vibrations of the helicopter and other noises. We both had a super afternoon playing the upgrade of Godzilla. Larry played and got the #1 high score. He challenged me to beat him so I did. My game started out very poor but I ended up beating his score with the total of 894,902,330. I also played the weekly challenge of Fun House and got a new high score of 8,457,450. We had a great day of playing pinball.

I played the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event today was Event: Pyramid Mini of 5 games. It took me 12 minutes and 4 seconds, which put me in 16th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

I worked out for a half hour with my Wii Fit and a half hour with Just Dance 3. Today I worked with the group of songs called Mash-Up, it had a group of characters from other songs dancing together in one song. 

I worked on the Lady and the Tramp diamond painting. 

After my workout we went to town to mail a couple of things out at the UPS Store. Then we went to Walmart to pick up a chicken for dinner. 

In the evening I attended Ett McAtee's Weekly A2 dance at 6:30 for an hour. Ett called four tips to 22 participants. We just danced and visited in between the tips. I had a super time dancing with friends.

After the dance we started watching the second season of Northern Exposure. Then I watched Ant-Man from the Marvel super hero series. Afterwards I watched an episode of A Touch of Frost. I ended up doing 17,000 steps, which put me in first place in my group.

 

Thursday 1-25-24 New Pinball Game, Diamond Painting & More

 

Overcast Day

We had another overcast day with a little drizzle now and then. 

We just hung around the house having fun. Larry downloaded a new Elvira pinball game called Elvira Party Monsters. It has the same ROM as Elvira House of Horrors so Larry had to make aliases for the two games so they could work independent of each other. The new Elvira has a scoring problem, you can't put your initials in the game when you get a high score. Larry will work on it tomorrow. We played the new game. I played four other pinball games. They were Elvira House of Horrors, Scared Stiff (Elvira), Fun House and Who Dunnit. On both Elvira House of Horrors and Elvira Party Monster I the 2nd high score. The other two I had a good game. I had fun playing pinball games.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event today was Event: Hard Road Mini of 10 games, It took me 1 hour, 55 minutes and 23 seconds, which put me in 27th place in my group. Then I moved onto playing Angry Birds.

I spent most of the day working on Lady and the Tramp diamond painting project.

In the evening we finished watching the first season of  Northern Exposure. I watched the Avengers: Age of Ultron and the third episode of the fourth season of A Touch of Frost. I ended up doing 17,000 steps, which put me in 1st place in my group.

Wednesday 1-24-24 Dance Day & Having Fun

Rainy Day

We had another rainy day. It drizzled on and off all day. In the evening the rain came it wasn't hard but it was steady. The day started with the temperature of 49 degrees and got up to 52 degrees.

I attended three virtual square dances. First was Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly Plus at 10:00 for an hour. Di and Terry took turns calling 5 tips to 11 participants. Di workshopped Spin Chain the Gears, Spin Chain the Gears and Exchange and the center part of Load the Boat from waves. Terry called some full square material, this surprised us because he doesn't usually call four couple material. Di and Terry cued through out the dance. This helped me a lot because I was dancing by myself. I had a great time. 

Second was Ett McAtee's Weekly C1 at 1:00 for an hour. She called four tips to 15 participants. She worked on Vertical Tag and Tally Ho. She didn't do too much cueing so I struggled through some moves when we were put in positions we're not used to be in and I couldn't see where the phantoms were. I danced by myself and had fun.

Third was Dave Eno's Weekly C1/A2 at 6:00 for an hour and a half. Karin Rabe and Greg Moore helped him call the dance. Dave Hutchinson was there but he didn't call he just wanted to dance with his wife Mary. The format was three tips of C1 to 10 participants and three A2 to 11 participants. Karin and Greg called one tip in C1 and A2, Dave called one tip in C1 and A2 and the third tip in C1 and A2 all three called together. In between the tips in A2 they had a Trivia question. I had a great evening dancing to Dave, Karin and Greg and with friends.

Tuesday 1-23-24 Nasty Day, Dancing, Games & Having Fun

 

Rainy Day

It drizzled all day. The low today was 46 degrees and got to the high of 51 degrees.

The weather report for today was for rain and heavy fog until 10:00 am so we decided not to drive to Corsicana to dance A2. We attended DI Green and Terry McCann's Weekly A2 dance at 10:00 for an hour. Di and Terry took turns calling five tips to 14 participants. Di worked on Pass and Roll left and right, Pass and Roll Your Neighbor, Anything and Roll and Motivate From Columns. Larry danced with me and we had an outstanding time dancing to Di and Terry and with friends.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event today was Event: Tri Peaks Mini of 5 games. It took me 11 minutes and 22 seconds, which put me in 24th place in my group. Then I moved unto playing Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds and Friends.

I finished Bambi yesterday so today I started a new diamond painting, which was Lady and the Tramp. I already did Lady and the Tramp but this one has a lot more color in it.

Larry spent the afternoon working on the pinball machine. He had installed Fun House yesterday and he was not happy with the sounds. The sounds for Rudy (the main character) were so low you could barely hear him. These sounds (call outs) not only add to the enjoyment of the game they are also important to playing the game, they will tell you things you need to know to improve your score. He spent hours figuring out how to increase the volume of each individual call out, there were 113 of them. Now you can hear what Rudy is saying. Then I played the game because it was my weekly challenge. I ended up getting a new high score. The score I got was 2,576,320.

I played a couple more pinball games, which were Great Houdini and Guardians of the Galaxy. While playing Great Houdini I got high score #1. Afterwards I played on the arcade cabinet. I played three arcade games (Pac Man, Pac Mania and Pengo) and two slots/fruit games (Blue Moon and Cake Walk). I hadn't played on the arcade cabinet in a very long time and had a great time. When I played Pac Man I scored 6220, Pac Mania I scored 8980 and Pengo I scored 1660.

In the evening we started watching the first season of Northern Exposure. It's an old series. It ran from July 12th 1990 to July 26th 1995. It's about a doctor, who was hired to be the doctor in a small Alaskan town for four years. It's still a good series. Then I watched Guardians of the Galaxy. I also started the 11th season of Father Brown. I ended up doing 17,500 steps, which put me in 1st place in my group.
