Thursday 6-1-23 Laid Back Day

 

First day of June

Today was the first day of June. It started out overcast by the afternoon the sun came out. The high today was 87 degrees.

Larry started the day out by doing his monthly backup of the computer. He backs it up to a second computer, an external hard drive and finally a online backup service. He also filled the bleach applicator in the septic system.

After lunch we went to town. We have these old big shirts we wear when we do projects around the house and they're worn out. We stopped by the Heart of Texas Goodwill and found a couple of shirts. Afterward we went to the storage unit to get the Minnie. 

When it is stored we drive the Minnie and run the generator once a month. It has been about a month since we got back from our spring trip. When we got back we had friends coming to visit and we had a few things to do before they arrived so we didn't properly clean the Minnie. She still has the bugs and road grime from the trip. We brought her to the house to clean her up and do a couple of maintenance items. Larry parked it in front of the garage door where the boat is. We will probably start on it tomorrow.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event today was Event: Easy Street Mini of 15 games. It took me 38 minutes and 9 seconds, which put me in 22nd place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds and Friends.

The other day I wanted to play Mission Impossible on the pinball machine and it wouldn't work. The game would load but it would not start. No idea why, other than loading a few games Larry had made no other changes to the machine. Today he tried to fix it and was unsuccessful, he figured out what the problem was but he could not come up with a fix. He ended up asking for help on a pinball Facebook group. A couple of folks replied with ideas, a gentleman from Australia gave him something to try and when that did not work he provided another idea. The last idea solved the problem. Larry replied back and told him he was a genius. Afterwards he played Mission Impossible a few times. 

After playing my other games I played pinball. I played Black Knight and four other game (60th Anniversary of James Bond, Great Houdini, Mission Impossible and Godzilla).

In the evening we watched a new Marvel movie on Disney called Ant Man & Wasp Quantumania. It was a good movie. After Larry went to bed I watched Crater on Disney. It was a science fiction movie about a boy and his four best friends growing up in a lunar mining colony. They decided to explore a legendary crater. It was about kids getting to know each other. It was good. Then I watched Hildalgo from our movie collection. I ended up doing 16,500 steps, which put me in 6th place in my group.
