Thursday 7-8 Dancing and Having Fun

Afternoon Clouds

We had sunshine until mid afternoon when the clouds rolled in. It only got up to 90 degrees which is very mild for this time of year.

Larry started the day out by going to town to pick up a package. While in town he did a little grocery shopping. He also stopped by Heart of Texas Goodwill to drop off a donation.

Doing Errands

While he was in town I did my weekly housecleaning. After dancing I did the Daily Challenges and Event: Spider Mini of 5 games. It took me 19 minutes and 59 seconds, which put me in 27th place in my group of 100.

Doing housework

We attended two virtual square dances. First was Dayle Hodge's Weekly C1 at 11:00. He called four two couples tips with 18 participants and one four couples tip with 12. He cued through out the dance and we had fun.

Second was Joachim Ruehenbeck's C1 at 12:30. We had 20 participants. Joachim called five tips. We had a great time. He told us that his two clubs were starting up live dancing full time so his virtual dancing is going away. We will miss him and his partner.

In the evening we went to Sun City and danced with the Sundancers C1/A2 tape group. For the C1 session we had six couples. We danced C1 for an hour. For the A2 session we had two squares and four extra people. We danced A2 for an hour and a half. We had a great evening of dancing.

Back in 2019 Larry received a WIFI Smart Electronic Deadbolt to review. After using it for a couple of months he removed it. He didn't like the battery life, it was suppose to recharge via a built in solar panel but since the lock was not in the sun that did not work. It did come with two rechargeable batteries so you could swap them out but that was a pain and they only lasted about 6 weeks. A couple of weeks ago he received an e-mail from the company offering to upgrade it for free with a new model that would last 9 months on a charge. He received it today and installed it. It installed fine but he could not get it to program so he called the help line. The lady, who helped him was very helpful and stayed on the line for over 45 minutes. They got it programmed but could not get it to work with Alexa. When we got home from the dance Larry had an email and a phone message from the support person explaining what needed to be done to get it working. With that information Larry was able to get everything working correctly. It was unfortunate that all of this information was not documented but the good news was the company had a terrific support person.

When we got home from Sun City Larry checked his e-mail and then went to bed. I finished watching the third season of White Collar. I ended up doing 25,500 steps, which put me in 3rd place in my group.
