Monday 11-6-23 Dancing, Visiting Louise, Playing Pinball & More

Having Fun

We had a humid day with the high of 78 degrees.

Larry started the day out finishing cleaning up Louise's photos.

When I got up I had fresh cinnamon rolls waiting for me. After breakfast we attended Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly C1 at 9:00 for an hour. This was their last dance for three weeks because they're going on Holiday. Di called five tips to 17 participants. We had a super time dancing with friends.

After the dance we went to Round Rock to visit with Louise and Alice. Larry needed to deliver her new and old computers. Before leaving the house Larry texted her and told her we would bring lunch. We stopped by Taco Bell and bought beefy melt burritos. When we arrived at Louise's house she and Alice came out to greet us.

Larry showed Louise how her new computer worked. It has a touch screen, a finger print reader to unlock the machine and you can fold the monitor completely under to make it into a tablet. Larry helped her setup her finger print. She was very happy to get her new computer. Now she has two computers, she can use her old computer as a back up. Then we had lunch. Louise had baked chocolate chips cookies for dessert. While there Larry did a couple projects for her. One was rearrange her security cameras on the monitor. He tried to take her hose off the backyard faucet but couldn't because it was corroded on. While Larry did the project I played with Alice and assembled some of Louise's jigsaw puzzle. We had a nice visit.

On the way home Larry surprised me by driving to Taylor so we could play some real pinball. The place we went to was Press Start Arcade. It was located inside the old Taylor High School. The city converted the high school to local businesses. There are fourteen businesses there. Some of them are only open on the weekend. Press Start Arcade had six pinball machines, four claw prize machines, a few arcade games, dance area and a machine to practice your guitar skills with a guitar player. It works using a card. You can put whatever amount you want on it. Some of the pinball machines cost a $1.50 to play and other were $1. The machines played very well but the playfields were very dark. In fact the whole room was dark. The games were setup where the ball is saved and matching for free game. The pinball games were Elvira's House of Horrors, Space Shuttle, Alien, Revenge from Mars, Stranger Things and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. We spent $10.00 and played four of the games. When we played Teenage Mutant Turtles we matched two times and ended up playing four games instead of two. We played for about an hour and had fun.

I played the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event today was Event: Two Game Tango Mini of 10 games (5 Klondike and 5 Free Cell). It took me 1 hour, 6 minutes and 6 seconds, which put me in 14th place in my group. Then I played some Angry Birds.

I played the weekly challenge of pinball, Johnny Mnemonic and got a new high score of 925,031,650.

New high score

I continued working on my diamond painting of Yoda.

In the evening we watched The Batman on Amazon. It was a 2022 movie starring Robert Pattinson as Batman and Zoe Kravitz as Cat Woman. It was a good movie. Afterwards I watched Star Wars: Episode II- Attack of the Clones. Then I watched a couple of episodes of The X-Files. I ended up doing 16,500 steps, which put in 2nd place in my group. This week I was put in a new weekly challenge in steps, which is 100K step challenge.
