Saturday 7-1-23 Visiting Louise & Games

Happy July

We had a great day.

It is the first day of the month and Larry has a couple of things he does every month on the first. He backs up our main computer to our backup computer, an external hard drive and to a offline cloud account on the internet. Doesn't take too long and makes him feel better. He also fills the septic system with bleach. Most months when we are home he also tries to take the motor home and motorcycle for a spin but he did that a couple of weeks ago.

Last night Larry called Louise and asked if she was going to be around. She said yes. This morning we went to Round Rock to visit Louise and Alice.

Louise has mentioned she would like to have a Pac-Man machine. Months ago when she first brought it up Larry sent her a Pac-Man machine he built when he was paper crafting. Every once in awhile he will ask her if she has been playing it, of course that is impossible since it is tiny and made of paper.

Most Pac-Man machines are large floor standing units which Louise certainly doesn't have room for. Earlier this week Larry found a Pac-Man that would sit on a cabinet or desk. He bought it for Louise as an early birthday present. The cabinet came fully assembled with 10 games loaded on it. You can either mount it on the wall or you can put on a table. The only thing you have to assemble to it are the legs.

On the way to Round Rock we stopped by Jack 'n' Jill Donuts for breakfast. We arrived at Louise's house about 8:45. We were greeted as we drove up. Alice came running out to say hi. It was nice to see she was feeling better.

Louise was surprised to see we bought her a Pac-Man machine. The games installed are: Pac Man, Pac Mania, Super Pac Man, Pac Land, Dig Dug, Dig Dug II, Mappy, Rompers, Rolling Thunder and New Rally-X. She can have fun playing Pac Man for many hours. Now that Louise has Pac Man she and I can compete with each other.

Hi Alice

Larry put the Pac Man machine on her desk. He had to disconnect her internet router and rearrange wires on the desk so the machine could fit. Once he put the machine on the desk he made sure all her other electronics worked (her Alexa devices, security cameras and other internet stuff).

Larry showed her how the machine worked and how to select the game she wanted to play.

Next he worked on her window blinds. A few days after Larry installed the blinds one of the brackets broke and when Larry was trying to reattach the blind another one broke. He was able to get the blind reinstalled with a modification he made but he was concerned that more of them would break. Louise contacted the company and they sent her new brackets. The new brackets were the same as the ones that broke but Larry had built pieces to reinforce them so today he installed the brackets with his modification.

We had a great time visiting with Louise. I had fun playing with Alice.

When we got home I played the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event today was Event: Klondike Adventure of 20 games. It took me 1 hour, 14 minutes and 54 seconds, which put me in 9th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

Larry played some pinball. I played Who Dunnit and Medieval Madness. Then I moved to the arcade machine and played Pac Man and got a high score of 8160.

In the evening we watched an episode of Poirot and an episode of The Librarians. Then I watched the movie Murder on the Orient Express from our movie selection. Afterwards I watched a couple of episodes of The X-Files. I ended up doing 17,000 steps, which put me  in 1st place in my group.

While we were relaxing in front of the television a little front came through with rain. It didn't stay long and the rain was steady. An hour later you couldn't tell it rained. We still need a lot more. During the rain a couple of humming birds showed up to drink some nectar.

Here comes the rain
