Hi everyone
Last night Larry e-mailed Louise and told her she didn't need to get a plumber. He had done some research via the web and decided he could fix the pipe that broke trying to replace her tub spout / water diverter.
I woke up early because we wanted to get an early start. Larry loaded the car with the tools he thought he would need. On the way to Round Rock we stopped by Top Donuts. We arrived at Louise's at 8:00.
Louise was surprised we were there so early. Alice came out to say hello. Then Larry brought his tool box inside to begin the project. In order to get to the plumbing Larry needed to get behind a shelving unit in the living room. The last time something needed fixed on the tub the plumber had to cut a hole in the wall behind the shelving, unfortunately that hole was not large enough or in the correct place for this project. Louise had emptied the shelving unit and Larry moved it from the wall. Larry cut the new hole and decided what parts he needed. Then all three of us went to Lowe's to get the parts. They did not have one of the pieces in stock so we also had to go to Home Depot. Larry told Louise that he would probably make another trip or two back to Lowe's. He went back to the project.

The faucet that was replaced
While he was working I made lunch. We had pizza, chips and Louise had made mini muffins for dessert. After lunch Larry and I went back to Lowe's because one of the parts he had bought earlier was too long. We found the right length. He decided to get two different lengths just to make sure he had the right length. When we got back to the house Larry finished up the project. He installed the piping he needed. A new support board had to be cut and installed, the original plumber had simply duct taped a small board to the pipes, not sure how he thought that was correct. Next Larry screwed the sheet rock he had cut out back on the wall. He moved into the bathroom to caulk around the spout he had replaced. The caulk he had didn't work so back to Lowe's we went. Louise brought along the extra parts Larry didn't use to return them. Once back at the house he caulked the faucet.
We had another nice visit. We were there all day and didn't get home until 4:00.
I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong and Event: World Tour Mini of 10 games. It took me 48 minutes and 15 seconds, which put me in 17th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.
In the evening we watched three episodes of a series on PBS called Press. It was very good. After Larry went to bed I watched an episode of The Brokenwood Mysteries. Then I watched Indiana Jones: The Temple of Doom, another of our dvd's. I ended up doing 28,000 steps, which put me in 2nd place in my group. This is a good beginning for the week.
