Wednesday 5-19 Wildlife Get Together

Awesome Day

The rain went away early this morning but the cloud covering stayed. It got up to the low 70s. We had a great day.

The birds and the squirrels were very active on the porch. When Larry gets up in the morning he opens the blinds to let the sunshine in. Then he hangs the bird feeder and puts the bowls out for the birds. Sometimes the birds are waiting. Throughout the day I refill the bowls. Today we had a pleasant surprise, when we finished dancing to Don Moger we had three squirrels and eight doves on the porch and doves in the feeder. We had three doves in the feeder at one time but it didn't last because the feeder was too small. While the squirrels and doves were eating we had a hummingbird come and visit its feeder. Later on the cardinals showed up.

Larry started the day out by going to Walmart to buy more birdfeed because I was getting low. While he was there he picked up a few items we needed. On the way home he stopped by Top Donuts and bought a couple of cinnamon rolls for our breakfast.

When I got up he was gone. I wasn't sure where he went. He came home shortly after I got up.

We attended two virtual square dances. First was Dayle Hodge's Weekly A2 at 11:00. He called four two couples tips with 35 participants and one four couples tip with 29. Dayle did a great job calling and cueing. There were two couples from Germany who were new to Zoom dancing, Dale was great at welcoming them and helping them get going. We had a fun time.

Second was Don Moger's Weekly C1 Teach at 12:00. Don had 35 participants. We don't normally attend this dance but we decided to give it a try and were glad we did. He called five tips where he worked on Swing The Fractions, Magic Columns, Concentric Concepts ( touch a quarter and Dixie Sasha). We were glad we showed up because he worked on four couple moves.

In between dancing I did the Daily Challenges and the Event: Free Cell Mini of 10 games. It took me 1 hour, 5 minutes and 19 seconds, which put me in 12th place in my group.

Larry continued reading a book on his Kindle.

After dinner we attended the City of Temple Mobility Master Plan through Zoom. It was a meeting to get input from the citizens on how to improve transportation and getting around in Temple. It was long but people did give the group some suggestions.

Afterwards we finished watching The Men Who Made America. It was very informative about the first business moguls and their accomplishments: John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, Henry Ford and J.P. Morgan. Then I watched a few episodes of Star Trek: Voyager. I ended up doing 27,000 steps, which kept me in 2nd place in my group.
