Thursday 5-6 Yardwork and Dancing

Smile and be happy

We had an awesome day. We kept busy doing this and that.

We started the day by going to two different Walmarts. Larry order a couple pairs of jeans from the Walmart in Belton and they were ready to be picked up at Curbside Service. He used the app that notifies the employees at Walmart when we arrive. When we arrived he was getting ready to call to let them know we were there when an employee appeared. He got our order and we didn't have to get out the car. The second Walmart was in Temple to pick up Larry's prescriptions. While he did this I looked for a substitute for the Lance cookies we like that are not available right now. We couldn't find anything but we decided to try Great Value oatmeal cookies. On the way to checkout we found some mini cakes that have not been available.

When we got home I did the Daily Challenges and the Event: Easy Street Mini of 5 games. It took me 12 minutes and 12 seconds, which put me in 36th in my group. Larry continued worked on his card project.

A couple of days ago Larry received an e-mail from our friend Jeanne thanking him for a card he had sent. Larry was very surprised, he had only mailed the card the day before and it had to go to a different city.

Today Larry's mom (Shirley) called to thank him for the card she received. She lives in Arizona and the card also arrived very quickly, however, it had been sliced opened. This is not the first card she has received open, a few weeks ago she received a card from Louise (Larry's sister) that had been opened and was missing gift cards. Apparently someone in the  postal service is opening cards looking for gift cards.

Other than the colors do you notice anything different in the cards? Larry made two of them weeks ago, he felt they needed just a bit more detail. Last week he made a change that allowed him to add extra lines into the wings so the last card was made differently, I think it made the card even more beautiful. These cards fold flat so that they can be easily mailed.

We attended two virtual square dances. First was Dayle Hodge's Weekly C1 at 11:00. He is on vacation for a few days so he asked Di Green to cover his dances. He Zoomed in to welcome us to the dance and then turned it over to Di. We had 30 participants. Di did an outstanding job of covering for Dayle. She called four two couples C1 tips and one four couples C1 tip. We had a great time dancing to Di.

Second was Jeremy Butler's Weekly A2/C1 at 6:00. During the A2 tips we had 13 participants and the C1 tip had 10. Jeremy put us in positions that we weren't use to being in and made it challenging. We had an outstanding time dancing to Jeremy and with friends.

After lunch I mowed the front and back yards. While I did this Larry weedeated and blew off the driveway. Then he removed cobwebs from the eaves. He treated for fire ants. We worked outside for an hour and a half.

I continued reading my Kindle book. After the last dance we finished watching Atlantic Crossing. This series was very well done and we enjoyed it. Then I watched a few episodes of Star Trek: Voyager. I ended up doing 27,000 steps, which put me in 4th place in my group. LIFE IE GOOD!!!
