Dinosaur Valley State Park welcome sign
We woke up to a very cold morning, it was 18 degrees but fortunately the wind was very lite. We had breakfast and then went on a hike. We were going to cross the river and hike up the hill but due to the cold we decided to hike the Horseshoe Equestrian Trail. It is located down low and some of it is in the sun. We hiked the Paluxy River Trail all the way to the equestrian trail. The trail starts by the horse stables where in the summer you can go on horseback rides. The trail was not difficult, it went around an open field and through some trees. At places there were loose rocks and we hiked up and down small hills. After hiking the trail we went back to the Minnie. We had a great hike.
Last night Larry checked the weather and saw that it was suppose to rain Saturday morning which is when we were going to head home so we decided we would leave today to avoid the rain.
After the hike we had lunch and then got ready to leave. We got on the road about 12:30, the temperature was just above freezing. It was about 90 miles to the house. Before leaving the park Larry filled the Minnie with water and emptied the black tank. He tried to empty the gray tank but the valve was frozen.
The drive home was very nice. It was two lane highways through small towns. There was road construction at three different places, we couldn't believe our luck, we got through all three of them without having to wait. As we drove we saw ranches with cattle, sheep and goats. We stopped by the Walmart in Temple to do a little grocery shopping.
I had a Wellness appointment scheduled for this coming Wednesday. This afternoon Scott and White called and said they needed to reschedule so my appointment is now January 22nd. This was a little disappointing because we could have stayed out camping.
After unloading the Minnie we watched YouTube videos. I played the Solitaire and Mahjong Daily Challenges and Event: Hard Road Mini of 10 games. It took me 1 hour and 29 seconds, which put me in 12th place.
In the evening we started watching the 2nd season of Broadchurch on PBS. Then I finished watching the 5th season of Republic of Doyle. I started watching the 6th and final season of Republic of Doyle on PLEX. I ended up doing 28,000 steps, which put me in 3rd place in my group.
