Sunday 8-18-24 Fall Trip Preparation, Swimming & More

Fall Trip Preparation

We had another 100+ day with a lot of sunshine.

Larry started the day out by doing some things to get the Minnie ready for our Fall Trip. One of the storage door latches had gotten very difficult to turn. He took it partially apart and lubed it, now it works like new. One of the latches that holds the storage door open had broken, he replaced it with one he ordered on Amazon. Next he put air in the air bags. He also aired up the tires and while he was at it he replaced the batteries in the tire pressure sensors. They were still working but they were three years old. Then he inspected all the seams, he found four areas where the sealant needed work. He dug out the old sealant, cleaned up the area and then filled the seams with sealant. Last year he bought a new tube of sealant and luckily he was able to still use it. This is a special sealant that can only be purchased at RV places or Amazon.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Experts Only Mini of 5 games. It took me 54 minutes and 5 seconds, which put me in 11th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

Today starts a new weekly challenge in pinball. A couple of weeks ago Larry had submitted The Godfather as a choice and this week they chose it. We already have it installed on our cabinet so Larry just had to change the ball number from 5 to 3. Then he changed Terminator 3 from 3 balls to 5 balls. Before the new challenge began I played Terminator 3 to try and get a new high score but wasn't successful. I ended up coming in 43rd out of 59 participants. My first high score in The Godfather for the week was 2,761,670, which put me in 8th place out of 8 participants. It won't be accepted until tomorrow morning because the gentlemen who approve the scores are in Europe and the time zone is six hours ahead of me.

I played three other games, which were Star Wars, Big Buck Hunter Pro and Queen.

Larry saw Jason next door at his rental so he went over to talk to him. Jason has told us many times that we are welcome to swim in either one of his pools. Larry asked if we could go for a swim this evening. He had no renters today and was thrilled to let us use the pool. He offered to turn on the television or the music but Larry told him we were fine with quiet and we wouldn't be there very long. We went over for a swim about 6:00 when the pool was shaded from the sun. Its a beautiful pool with two levels, there is a wall in between each level. One level is shallow and goes to 6 feet and the other one is very deep. When you swim in the upper level the water flows over the top of the wall and forms a waterfall into the lower pool. The upper level is bigger than the lower so you can swim laps. It also has a swim up bar with seats in the water. We swam for about 45 minutes, the water temperature was 90 degrees. It felt nice to go for a swim.

When we got home we relaxed in front of the television. We watched a movie on Pluto called Salmon Fishing In The Yemen. It was very good. Then I watched Mission Impossible 5 on Paramount +. Then I watched I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 4th place in my group for the week with the total of 124,120 steps.
