What should we do?
After watching our local Covid infection numbers decline week after week six weeks ago we started back live square dancing. We initially danced Tuesdays with Diamond Masters and Thursdays with the Sundancers tape group. A month ago the Sundancers started back dancing on Monday nights and we added that dance.
The Coronavirus numbers in Texas have taken a turn for the worse and Bell County where we live now has the highest infection rate in the state. The area is now classified as COVID-19 threat level 1 - Severe uncontrolled community transmission. More people have recently gotten vaccinated but Bell County still only has a 34% vaccinated rate.
Three weeks ago when the infection numbers began to increase we went back to wearing masks when we shop. When we square dance we don't wear a mask. Square dancing puts everyone in close proximity to each other, along with this we all hug each other and we must hold hands. We are vaccinated and realize the risk of getting seriously ill is small but we would be devastated to learn we had passed it on to someone else. Today we made the difficult decision to stop live dancing. We love dancing in person and visiting with our friends but keeping everyone safe and healthy is more important. We still have virtual square dancing. In a couple of weeks we will be leaving on our fall trip, hopefully by the time we get home things will have improved.
Today I attended one virtual square dance, Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly Plus at 11:00. They called five two couples tips with 33 participants and one four couples tip with 27. I had a super time.
While I danced Larry worked on a paper project. It took him most of the day to finish up a really cute scarecrow. Once again before cutting it he reduced the size, he wanted it similar in size to Winnie the Witch. Making things smaller means they take less room.
It is difficult to take decent pictures of Larry's paper projects, there are always shadows on them. The other day when watching the GizWiz they reviewed a light box from Five Below. They loved how the light box worked but the reviews for that particular light box weren't too good. Larry found another inexpensive one that got good reviews, it came in this evening and it really does work well, we got some great pictures.

After the dance I did the Daily Challenges and Event: Hard Road Mini of 5 games. It took me 1 hour, 5 minutes and 22 seconds, which put me in 30th place in my group. I also did the Mahjong Daily Challenges. After playing the games I continued reading Hannah.
In the evening we watched a documentary on Amazon called Chasing Niagara. It was about a group of young men who do waterfall kayaking and one of them wanted to kayak Niagara Falls. It took you though the process to prepare him for the challenge over three years by kayaking some falls that were similar. It was very interesting. Then I watched another animating movie on Amazon Kids called A Turtle's Tale 2: Sammy's Escape From Paradise. It was cute. Afterwards I finished watching the eighth season of Silent Witness. I ended up doing 26,000 steps, which put me in 5th place in my group. This is a great start for the week.
