We had a beautiful day with a lot of sunshine and very little wind.
When the landscaping crew installed the fence for our new neighbor they created a couple of holes and left some dirt on our side of the fence. They fixed everything up and yesterday while they were installing sod they insisted on putting some on our side of the fence where they had worked. The area is at the far backside of the yard, we don't irrigate or maintain that area other than mowing it every couple of weeks. Larry told them they really didn't need to do anything with it but they insisted. Last night, Jason, the new neighbor was hand watering the new sod on our side of the fence. Larry felt that the least we could do was water the new sod, he readjusted a couple of the heads on our irrigation system so they would spray the new sod and this morning we bought an inexpensive hose end sprinkler from The Home Depot. We also stopped by Walmart for a couple of things. On the way home we stopped by Top Donuts to buy a couple of donuts for breakfast.
Once again we wore mask in the stores and we noticed more folks have started wearing masks again. Not a majority but certainly more than had been. Our local TV news has been having lots of coverage on how bad the local situation has become. All of the hospitals in Bell and McClennan counties are full along with Scott and Whites Children Center. The county judge and the medical providers from the area held a press conference today describing how dire things are and begging folks to get vaccinated.
We were going to go to Dayle Hodge's Weekly C1 dance at 11:00 but the Zoom link didn't work, he is traveling and he had Di Green covering. It was almost halfway through the dance when we got an e-mail from Di to try another link. We decided to pass on the dance because it was only for another half hour.
After lunch Larry continued working on the solar project for our trip.
While he did this I finished reading Hannah. One of our square dancing friends wrote the book. It is a cute fictional story about his mother. I liked the end because he explained what parts were fiction and what parts were true.
Then I did some housework.
Doing housework
After reading I did my Daily Challenges and Event: Two Game Tango Mini of 10 games (5 Klondike and 5 Spider). It took me 42 minutes and 33 seconds, which put me in 10th place in my group. I also did Mahjong Daily Challenges.
On Thursdays we have been dancing live with the Sundancers group in Sun City. This has prevented us from dancing Jeremy Butler's Weekly A2/C1 virtual dance. He is a great caller and we miss dancing to him so it was great to dance with him again tonight. He called four two couples A2 tips with 12 participants and one two couples C1 tips with 9. During the A2 session Dayle Hodge zoomed in and called a tip with Jeremy.
Dayle is in Dallas for a week calling to the local dancers. He had an A2 dance scheduled at 7:00 and only had a few minutes. Even though Dayle is going to be in Dallas he is still going to call his virtual dances, they are during the day and the other dances are at night. Larry and I had a great hour of dancing to Jeremy and the other dancers.
After the dance we watched a documentary on Amazon called Most Likely To Succeed. It was about four young people who graduated near the top of their senior class and were voted Most Likely To Succeed. The movie started following them as they graduated from high school and followed them for the next ten years. It was very good to see how these four people learned about life and how they grew up in the ten years. Afterwards I started watching the 10th season of Silent Witness. I ended up doing 27,000 steps, which put me in 3rd place in my group. LIFE IS GOOD!!!
