Today's weather was perfect, beautiful blue skies and temperatures in the mid 70s.
We started the day off by going to the Peppermint Palace for Bronc Wise's A dance at 10:00. Bronc got stuck calling out of town so he asked Nick Hartley to fill in. Nick calls in Harlingen at Lakewood, he is a great caller. When the squares were having trouble Nick would cue us through the call. We also had a surprise, our friends Renee and Robert from Austin showed up to dance. We had nine squares. We had a super time dancing to Nick and with our friends.

We only had an hour before our next dance which was a DBD Workshop with Randy Dougherty. Before going to the dance we stopped and had lunch at Wendys. Larry and I really like their Apple Pecan salad, they are huge so we share one. If you don't want a huge salad they also sell it in a half size.
The DBD Workshop had four squares. Randy brought his dog Abbey and she was very well behaved. Randy walked us through, peel off, track II, follow your neighbor, diamond circulate and flip and cut the diamond. He put us in different positions. We had a very nice time.
In the evening J-5 RV Park had a special event going on in the club house. They invited Bill Chrastil to perform, he has been a full time entertainer and musician since 1983. He salutes music legends: Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Willie nelson, Conway Twitty, Roy Orbison, Neil Diamond, Buddy Holly, Tom Jones and the Ventures. He is very energetic and a one man show. He plays the guitar and keyboard. He performs around the Valley during the season and won the best entertainer award in 2017. I really enjoyed the show.
