Thursday 9-10 Cool Front

Super day

We had a super day of cool weather. It was overcast with a breeze out of the north which kept the temperatures in the low to mid 60's. At the house we had 66 degrees.

We woke up to a brisk morning with the temperature at 56 degrees. Perfect day to go for a walk. We got in the car and drove to Crossroads Park. The children are back in school so there was hardly anyone at the park. We saw another couple and a guy with his dog. We took our normal walk using the sidewalk that goes around the park. We had a lot of rain in the last few days so at places it was muddy. The park was built in the flood area so when it rains water and mud are forced to go over the sidewalk at places. When we got to the housing development we carefully walked around the mud on the sidewalk by going in the field but we didn't get too far before we turned around and took the sidewalk around the housing development. We walked a little further than normal but that was ok, we needed the exercise. We ended up walking for forty-five minutes. We had a great walk.

The Equinox's tags are due next month so on the way home we stopped by Valvoline Express Oil Change to get the car inspected. Due to the coronavirus we weren't allow to get out of the car and they didn't drive the car around to make sure the brakes work. They told Larry what to do for the inspection: turn on the lights, right turn signal, left turn signal and brakes. The employees, who came in direct contact with the customers wore a mask supplied by the company. This made us feel more comfortable. We also were wearing masks.

We attended four virtual square dances. The first dance was Dayle Hodge's weekly C1 dance at 11:00. There were 43 participants. Dayle helped me out a few times by telling the dancers where they should be, what hand they should be holding and with whom. We had a fantastic time dancing to Dayle and other dancers from all over the world.

The second dance was Joachim Ruhenbeck C1/C2 two hour dance at 12:30. We attended the C1 dance. Joachim had 37 participants. We broke down a few times because we got confused on a call. When you dance to Joachim if you fall behind you will most likely breakdown because of the speed he calls. Joachim is a great caller and walks dancers through moves they're having problems with. We enjoy dancing with Joachim and have a lot of fun.

The third dance was Jeremy Butler's weekly A2/C1 dance at 6:00 for an hour. We had 31 participants in the A2 and 25 in the C1. Jeremy called four A2 tips and one C1 tip. We had a great time.

The fourth dance was Michael Levy's weekly A2 dance at 7:30 for an hour. This was Michael's second week of calling and he is still learning how to call virtual square dancing. We got confused once in awhile but over all we had fun.

In between the dances I played my Microsoft Solitaire games. I did the Daily Challenges and the Event: Two Game Tango Mini of 3 Klondike games and 3 Tri Peaks games. It took me 10 minutes and 25 seconds, which put me in 20th place in my group. We watched YouTube videos.

We watched the birds flying in and out of birdfeeder for hours. I have been putting some feed in bowls for the squirrels to keep them out of the feeder. Today one of the squirrels tipped the big bowl over on top of the seed so he went into the feeder. Larry chased it off. I went to the tree,  flipped the bowl over and saw that there were seeds under it. So I took the bowl in the house. The squirrels were very happy, they came back to the tree and went to town with the seeds. People have asked me time and again if I ever getting tried of watching the wildlife. I always say no.

After the last dance we watched a couple episodes of The Yorkshire Vet. Then I watched a movie on Peacock called Reservation Road. It was about a hit and run accident, where a boy was killed. It was very good. Then I watched an episode of Columbo. I ended up doing 26,000 steps, which put me in third place in my group.
