Skip, Jan and Larry getting ready to go in the gate |
After a couple of days of rain we had an overcast day. About a month ago, Ruth Ann, one of the Sundancers couldn't dance due to an operation on her shoulder. She decided to see how many people would be interested in going to a Round Rock Express baseball game. During one of the dances she asked people to sign up if they were interested, she listed three different Tuesday's this month and the one that got the most sign ups would be the day she chose. She had no problem getting the 20 people needed to qualify for a special rate of $8. A couple of Mondays ago she found out it cost $10 dollars to park but if folks bought parking passes in advance it would cost $8. Jan and Skip decided they wanted to go and they bought a parking pass. Today we met up with them and went to the game. We had a fun time watching the game even though the Round Rock Express team lost. We hadn't been to a game in ages and there were not a lot of people in the stands. In between the innings they had different activities going on. They had a race where two kids had to run to each base and put on a piece of equipment, whoever won got a prize. They had a sack race where three adults raced to the finish line to get two free tickets to a game. The had a couple of men putting golf balls for a prize. They had other things going on to keep the audience entertained. There also was a Fun Park, where kids can climb rocks, bungee cord on a trampoline, swimming pool and other stuff. It was a fun night at the ball game.
