Wednesday 12-4-24 Rainy Day, Dancing, Projects & Games

 

Rainy Day

We woke up to rain and it stayed around all day. It wasn't hard but at times it was steady. The rain kept the high down to 57 degrees.

Larry spent the day working on the mini pinball cabinet. Today he started to wire the buttons. 

I attended three virtual dances. First was Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly Plus at 10:00 for an hour and fifteen minutes. Di and Terry took turns calling five tips to 11 participants. When the dancers had problems with moves Di will walk us through the moves until we were successful in completing the move. I had a great time dancing with friends.

Second was Ett McAtee's Weekly C1 at 1:00 for an hour. She called four tips to 17 participants. She worked on the move Ramble. I had fun dancing to Ett and friends.

Third was Dave Eno's Weekly C1/A2 at 6:00 for an hour and a half. Dave was still on vacation so Karin Rabe and Greg Moore called the dance together. The format was three tips of C1 to 8 participants, three tips of A2 to 8 participants and in between the A2 tips we had trivia question and Karin shared some pictures, that Dave sent her about his trip. I had a very nice evening of dancing with friends.

In between the dances I worked out with the Synth Riders for 45 minutes. I worked on the diamond painting of Tree of Life.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Easy Street Mini of 15 games. It took me 26 minutes and 8 seconds, which put me in 16th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

I played pinball. I played six games, which were Medieval Madness (weekly challenge), Game of Thrones, World Joker Poker, Star Wars, Big Buck Hunter Pro and Fish Tales. I had a fun time playing pinball even though I didn't get on the board.

After the last dance we watched a couple of episodes of the second season of Elementary. Then I continued watching the first season of Everwood. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 5th place in my group.

 

Tuesday 1-3-24 Dancing, Pinball Project, Housework & More

 

We had a gorgeous day with sunshine and the temperature was very mild. The high was 65 degrees. 

Yesterday, Larry did his monthly projects, putting bleach in septic and backed up the computer.  

Today he spent the day working on the mini pinball cabinet. He still working on how to wire the machine and where to put the electronics. He received a new mini shaker and installed it. It worked but he didn't like the performance. It didn't shake as hard as he wanted. He uninstalled it and ordered one that is a little stronger. He installed a couple of plugins for cables. The more stuff he puts in the cabinet the more changes he'll make. He's having fun.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Tri Peaks Adventure of 20 games. It took me 1 hour, 50 minutes and 37 seconds, which put me in 16th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

Larry took an hour off of his project to dance with me at 10:00. It was Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly A2 dance. They took turns calling five tips to 14 participants. The third tip Di worked on a couple of moves the dancers requested. They were Facing Recycle/Reverse Recycle and Left/Right Turn and Deal from waves. It's December so Di and Terry wore their Christmas outfits. Di and Terry did an excellent job of calling. We had a super time dancing with friends.

After lunch Larry went back to his working on his project and I did housework. It took me longer (2 hours) than usual because I wiped down the baseboards.

I played seven games of pinball. I did the weekly challenge of Medieval Madness, Creature From The Black Lagoon, Godzilla, Jurassic Park, Superman and the Justice League, Avatar and Theatre of Magic. I got the #7 high score in Godzilla and #4 high score in Jurassic Park.

In the evening we watched a couple of episodes of Elementary. Then I watched Top Gun: Maverick. Afterwards I started to watch the first season of Everwood on Freevee. It's about a a brain surgeon from Manhattan, who moves his family to a small town Everwood in Colorado when his wife dies in an auto accident. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 4th place in my group.

 

Monday 12-2-24 C1 Dance, Pinball Project, Diamond Painting & Games

 

We had a great day. The morning temperature was 41 degrees and the high was 65 degrees.

We started the day out by attending Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly C1 dance at 9:00 for an hour and fifteen minutes. Di called the five tips to 13 participants and danced with Terry. She did a super job of calling the dance and cued the whole dance. She walked us through moves the dancers were having problems with. Larry danced four of the tips with me. We had a great time.

Larry spent the day working on the mini pinball machine. He worked on deciding where to put all the electronics, fans and wiring. He built a bracket to hold some of his electronics. He installed the buttons temporarily so he could see where to put the electronics and the wiring. It's looking great so far.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Two Game Tango Mini of 6 games (3 Klondike and 3 Free Cell). It took me 9 minutes and 29 seconds, which put me in 18th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

I worked out with the Synth Riders for 45 minutes. I continued working on the Tree of Life diamond painting.

I played seven different pinball games. They were Medieval Madness, Corvette, Game of Thrones, The Godfather, Attack From Mars, Fun House and Fast Break. I got a new high score in Medieval Madness, which put me in 9th place out of 15 participants in the weekly challenge. I entered my initials as high score #1 in Corvette. I had a fun time playing pinball.

Sunday 12-1-24 December Begins, Pinball Machine, Crafting & New Games

First day of December

We had a super Sunday. The temperature was very nice with the low of 42 degrees and it got up to 69 degrees.

Larry worked on his mini pinball machine most of the day. Today he worked on wiring the on and off button and switch. He got the machine to turn on. Once he got it to work he asked me to play a game to make sure everything worked correctly. So I played Attack From Mars he had a sound problem, when he unplugged the machine the sound wouldn't turn on when he plugged it back in. He found out it was Pinup Popper. This program runs the menu bar that controls the selection of games. Once he figured it out he fixed it. He installed a mini bass shaker, something was loose inside of it and it did not work. He used the one out of the pinball cabinet we play on and it works great. He went on Amazon and printed a return slip and ordered another one. It should be in a couple of days. Then he'll ship the broken one back to the vendor. He had a super time playing Attack From Mars on the mini cabinet. It has a long ways to go but it plays and looks great so far.

The master bath toilet has been making a noise. Larry figured out it was the flapper. He had purchased these before via Amazon so he ordered the same ones again. Even though it was suppose to be exactly the same the new one was a bit larger and did not work correctly. Larry was able to trim it down, it now works fine. Now there is no noise.

First thing in the morning Larry installed an upgraded VR version of Lord of the Rings. Once he did this he played the game. The VR room was totally redone and looks great. I played the game a couple of times. Below are pictures of the VR room.

I worked on the Tree of Life diamond painting.

I took a nap. When I woke up I worked out with the Synth Riders for a half hour. 

Later on I played some pinball. Today was a beginning of a new weekly challenge, which is Medieval Madness. We already have the game so Larry changed the balls from five balls to three balls. He changed the balls from three to five balls on last week challenge of Jurassic Park. I played Jurassic Park to get a new high score for the week but failed. My first high score of Medieval Madness was 10,127,290. I also played Maverick and World Joker Poker.

In the evening we watched Wonka, which is a 2023 movie about Willy Wonka's early years. It stars Timothee Chalamet as Willy Wonka. It was good. Then I watched Aladdin and Shrek 2 out of our movies collection. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 3rd place in my group for the week with 125,225 steps. 

 

 

 

Saturday 11-30-24 Crafting, Pinball Project & Games

It was cold all day. The low was 40 degrees and the high was 66 degrees.

Larry waited a bit for the temperature to go up before he returned to painting the back box on his mini pinball project. While waiting we went to the post office to mail a card to Joe Saltel, early in the week he had a successful operation to open a couple of blocked arteries going to his heart. They believe this will accelerate the healing of his other medical issues. We also stopped by Walmart.

Larry spent the day working on his mini pinball machine. He sanded pieces he filled. Then he sanded and put another coat of paint on the bock box. The temperature was a little cold so the paint took awhile to dry. He finally set up a large box to put the piece in along with a small heater. While he waited for the paint to dry he started figuring out the assembly of the electronics in box. It's slow going but he's having fun.

I played seven different games of pinball. They were Jurassic Park, Elvira Party Animals, Queen, James Bond 60th Anniversary, Metallica, The Godfather and The Addams Family. I used the random button to choose the games except Jurassic Park. While playing Jurassic Park I got a new high score, which moved me from 34th place to 29th place in a group of 40 participants. When playing Metallica I put me initials in as high score #4, it was a super game. I played Metallica for about a half hour. I had an outstanding time playing pinball.

In the evening we watched Part Two of Leonardo on PBS. It was an outstanding documentary about Leonardo da Vinci life. Then I watched Beauty and the Beast and Shrek out of our movies collection. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 3rd place in my group.
