We had an awesome day. It started out with rain and was overcast all day. The high was in the mid 60s and a breeze out of the north.
A few years ago Larry built a bird house. He hung it from the eve on the back porch where we could see it. At the time I was feeding the birds from a very nearby bird feeder and while we saw plenty of birds check out the bird house none moved in. Last year I quit feeding the birds and shortly afterwards a pair of birds moved in. They spent weeks building a nest inside the bird house and then one day one of the birds quit showing up. The other bird hung around for weeks calling for its mate and chasing away any other birds that might land on the bird house. We assumed the mate was killed, probably by a cat or a hawk that had been hanging around. It was sad to see. Well this year another pair of birds took over the bird house and while there was already a nest inside they spent weeks bringing in materials and rearranging. Yesterday and today the two birds have been in and out constantly, while we have not seen them we believe they must have had babies and are busy finding things to feed them. I don't want to disturb them and the hole into the birdhouse is very small so I don't know if we will be able to see them but we are thrilled they are there and hope they do well.
Before going to bed last night I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event today was Event: Spider Adventure of 20 games. It took me 2 hours, 39 minutes and 16 seconds, which put me in 11th place in my group. I played Angry Birds.
I attended four virtual square dances. First was Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly Plus at 10:00 for an hour. Di and Terry took turns calling five tips to 11 participants. They work very well together and tell the dancers the formation and cue them through the moves we have problems with. I had a great time dancing with friends.
Second was Dayle Hodge's Weekly A1/A2 at 11:00 for an hour. Dayle called two two couple tips of A1, two two couple tips of A2 and one four couple tip to 11 participants. Larry attended the dance with me and we had a super time.
Third was Ett McAtee's Weekly C1 at 1:00 for an hour. She called five tips of C1 to 22 participants. She worked on Anything Chain Thru. The dancers were having problems with the move and asked her to cue more because a lot of us are dancing by ourselves and can't see where to go.She did cue more. Once she did this it wasn't as frustrating. It was an ok dance.
Fourth was Dave Eno's Weekly C1/A2 at 6:30 for two hours. This week he called by himself. He called two tips of C1 to 6 participants, five tips of A2 to 10 participants and one tip of C1 to 7 participants. The last tip of A2 he asked if Jolanda would like to call the tip to get practice. She did a super job. I had a fun evening dancing to Dave and with friends.
Dancing with friends
After Ett's dance I finished the event in Solitaire and played games on the pinball and arcade cabinets. On the arcade machine I played three pinball games (Diner, Cactus Canyon and Batman), two slot games (Lord of the Rings and Lotty Time) and one arcade game Bank Panic. I played the weekly challenge game (Star Wars) on the pinball machine. I didn't get a new high score but I did get close.
Bank Panic
Batman
Cactus Canyon
DIner
Lord of the Rings
Lotty Time
After Dave's dance we watched an episode of Poirot. Then I finished watching the third and final season of Hinterland, which was two episodes. I ended up doing 27,500 steps, which put me in 4th place in my group.
