Saturday 4/24 Girl Power 2 & Saturday Night Fever Dances

Dance Day

We had a wonderful day of sunshine. The temperature got to 79 degrees.

We started the day out by going to Michael's. Larry wanted to get a certain color of brown and blue for paper projects. Micheal's had cardstock on sale for 25% off. We were able to purchase what he wanted. Then we walked next door to Target and picked up some chili we like.

When we got home I did the Daily Challenges and the Event: Two Game Tango Mini of 10 games (5 Klondike and 5 Spider). It took me 52 minutes and 32 seconds to complete, which put me in 17th place in my group.

Larry worked on a couple of projects on his Cameo.

We attended two virtual square dances. First was Girl Power 2 at 1:00 to 3:15. We had Girl Power 1 awhile back, it was a tremendous success, the callers had a lot of fun calling and there was a great turn out so they decided to do another one. This dance had Di Green from England, Ett McAtee from Maryland and Judi Burr from Germany calling the square dancing tips and Amy Shotting cued the Round Dancing tips. The ladies decided to try a different format. Zoom now has the option of breakout rooms, the dance started with everyone in the main room and then everyone separated into one of four breakout rooms: Mainstream, Plus, A2 or Rounds. This worked out excellent. We danced in the A2 room. Ett and Di called in the room (Ett called 2 tips, Di called 2 tips and Ett called the last 2 tips). 136 participants were logged into the dance and our breakout room reached a high of 51. The opening singing call was done by Di, Judi did the closing singing call. We had a super afternoon of dancing. The callers had a great time and said they were going to do it again.

The second dance was Don Moger's Weekly Saturday Night Fever. This week Don invited Tom Miller to help him call. We danced three A2 tips and two C1 tips. Tom and Don rotated the calling. During the A2 tips we had 59 participants and C1 had 51. We had great time dancing to Don and Tom and with friends.

In between the dances Larry watched a couple of episodes of GizWiz.

I finished reading Silence in Hanover. After the last dance we watched a couple of episodes of Downton Abbey. Then I watched a couple of episode of Star Trek: Voyager. We were surfing through Amazon and Acorn to decide on what to watch next, we came across the Murdock Mysteries and it said I didn't finish watching the 13th season so I watched them. I ended up doing 27,000 steps, which kept me in 2nd place in my group.
