Friday 10-6-23

We had three outstanding days at Fallen Leaf Campground now it's time to move on.

Today we moved about 50 miles. We started in California and drove a few miles and were in Nevada. The scenery started down a mountain pass, where there were pine trees. Then it changed to a desert scene with sage bushes and junipers and rolling hills. It was still pretty but a little more barren. 

On the way to our next destination we stopped and filled the Minnie up with propane. We drove to town and stopped at the local U-haul. When we got there the propane filling station was out of order. Larry had read about the U-haul store and a lady said it had been down since March. They didn't have any propane. I guess they still don't have any propane. Larry looked for a Tractor Supplies store. He found one, that's down the road. As we were leaving the town we saw a hot air balloon flying overhead. When we got to the Tractor Supply a gentleman from Ameri Gas was filling their big tank. When he finished an employee came out and said, that their hose wasn't long enough to fill RVs. He recommended a place. Larry plugged in the directions, when we got there it was only an office. So we drove down the road to Wa She Shu Travel Plaza, where we got propane. Then we went to Topaz Lodge Park, which is where we're going to spend the weekend.

We were at Topaz Lodge RV Park by 12:30. Larry checked in at the Chevron store. The rv park was almost full. We found our site with no problem. All the sites are full hook-ups and are small. This destination has a convenience store with gas, a casino with slots, tables, a couple of restaurants, a small arcade room and a bar. Once we were setup we had lunch. When Larry checked in the lady gave him a couple of fun packets per day, it had a coupon for a Blackjack table, a coupon for $2/$4 meal credit and a free drink. 

After lunch we walked over to the casino. Once we checked it out Larry went back to the Minnie and I stayed and gambled. After a couple of hours I went back to Larry I had lost $13 dollars.

While I gambled Larry was doing research on where we're going next.

After dinner I went back to the casino and gambled another two hours and came back with $60 dollars. So I'm ahead by $20 dollars. We're going to be here another day.
