This morning Larry got up a bit after 6:00 and I got up a few minutes later. The casino closed at midnight so there were very few cars around. It was a great spot to stay overnight. I was going to make oatmeal for breakfast but Larry suggested we stop by Daylight Donuts.
It's suppose to rain all day tomorrow so we wanted to be somewhere with power and not too far from Paris Texas. We decided on Wright Patman Lake near Texarkana. This meant driving 370 miles mostly through Arkansas, we stopped for fuel and to have lunch in Malvern.
Wright Patman is an Army Corps of Engineer lake. We stayed here last year at Rocky Point Campground and enjoyed it. It has 124 campsites with power and water, 15 campsites with full hookups and 8 sites have 50-amp. Each site has a picnic table, grill and fire ring. The campground has a playground, volleyball court, swimming beach, boat ramp, restrooms with showers and hiking trails. The campground is open year round.

Because I now have an America The Beautiful Senior Card it only cost $12.00 a night. Our site is outstanding, it is huge, has a long concrete pad for the Minnie and a beautiful view of Wright Patman Lake. It is also directly across the street from a new bathhouse. We setup the Minnie and then we went over and took a shower.
After dinner we walked around the campground. As we were walking we saw some deer. We a saw a cute fawn running around a field of grass and through some pine trees. At first we thought it was scared of us but it was just having fun. The doe finally decided to run in the trees so the fawn joined her. It was fun watching the fawn run around in circles and jumping. When we were close to our site it started to sprinkle.
Around 8:00 the rain came in and it's suppose to stay in until midnight tomorrow. That's ok we have power and we have plenty of books to read. LIFE IS GOOD.
