Paris Texas |
This morning the temperature was in the 40s but it felt warmer. After spending three nights at Wright Patman Lake it's time to move on. We had a wonderful time. Our neighbors (four deer) came around every morning. Once when I was I looking out the back window I saw a couple of the deer eating leaves off the trees. One actually got on its back legs to get to a higher branch.
Our destination today was Paris Texas, a little over 100 miles away. We weren't in any hurry because we didn't have to be there until 8:00 in the evening. We left the campground around 8:45. Before leaving we went over and took a shower. When I got back from my shower I made mini waffles for breakfast. After breakfast we got the Minnie ready to leave.

On the way out we stopped by the dump station to dump the tanks. Our drive was interstate and two lane highways. Not too exciting but it got us to Paris. We arrived in Paris around 10:30, Walmart was on the highway going into town so we stopped to do a little shopping. Afterwards we had lunch and then stopped to get gas so we don't have to do it Sunday morning.
Every year in Paris, Tim Ploch puts on a weekend event called TEXPACC. He invites Ross Howell, Vic Ceder, Bronc Wise and Darryl Lipscomb to call. He has four full time halls: A2, C1, C2 and C3A. Tonight was the Trails End Dance at 8:00 pm. Dancers from all over Texas and through out the country attend.
This evening there were four squares of dancers in each hall. The numbers would change a bit as some folks would decide to dance in other halls. We had a super time dancing with friends and to four great callers (Tim Ploch, Bronc Wise, Darryl Lipscomb and Ross Howell). We still have two full days of dancing to do.
