Evening of dancing with friends |
We spent the morning hanging around the Minnie. We only had to travel 10 miles to our next destination. While we relaxed we took a shower, loaded the motorcycle back on its carrier and read. I worked on my Solitaire games. When it was time for lunch I made sandwiches.
We're going to be boondocking for a few days so before leaving the campground we filled the Minnie with water and dumped the tanks. Then we headed to the Clarion Hotel in Sharonville. We weren't in any hurry considering we don't dance until 8:00 in the evening. When we got to the Clarion we were surprised there were already few RVs in the parking lot. It got up to 83 degrees today. There was a little breeze so we just opened the windows. Our neighbor ran his generator all afternoon so he could run his air conditioner.
For the last 30 years Darryl Lipscomb has put on a three day event called Fall Into Heartland. This year he invited Ben Rubright, Ross Howell, Bill Haynes, Todd Fellegy and Bronc Wise to help call the dancing. He rents five halls for full time A2, C1, C2, C3A and C3B. The dancers come from all over the country and Canada. The dances are run by computers and they needed someone to run the computer in the C1 hall. Darryl asked Larry if we would run it. In between the dances we were putting people in the computer and taking them out. In the C1 hall we had three squares plus an extra couple. We danced to Darryl Lipscomb, Ross Howell, Ben Rubright, Todd Fellegy and Bill Haynes. We had a lot of fun dancing with friends.
