Sunday 7-8 Boating on Belton Lake

Let's go boating

When we woke up there was no wind so we loaded up the boat and off to the lake we went. The other day Larry noticed that the boat wasn't running correctly. He thought the cause might be the gas in the tank because it was from last year. On the way home from the lake the other day we filled it up with fresh gas. Today it still wasn't running right, in fact it was missing even more. Larry drove the boat for a little bit to see if it would clean up, it didn't. We decided to do a set of wakeboarding. Larry got right up and wakeboarded down the lake. When it was my turn it took me a few times before I got up. I was beginning to wonder if I knew how to wakeboard but once I was up I did a great set. When I finished we swam for a little while. We put the boat on the trailer and then wiped it down. The lake was flat and we had a great time.

Our boat is 18 years old, we have owned it almost 11 years. In going through the records the spark plugs were replaced 12 years ago and the spark plug wires are original. Larry decided that would be a good place to start. He was able to purchase spark plugs locally at O'Reilly Auto Parts so this afternoon he replaced them. The spark plug wires are special and either have to be purchased from a Mastercraft dealer or a parts supplier in South Carolina, he will have to order them. He also did some research and found some folks with the same engine who had similar problems and had been able to correct it by removing and cleaning connection on the coil packs so while he was replacing the spark plugs he also removed and cleaned these connections. In the morning we'll launch the boat and see how it runs.

The other day we bought some Bratwurst patties and for dinner I barbecued a couple of them. During the evening we watched Murder on the Orient Express again. I liked it better the second time. Then we watched another episode of The Last Post. While watching television we saw a doe and two fawns in the backyard. Since the lots behind us have been cleared we don't see many deer anymore. It was nice watching them. The fawns were hopping around and playing with each other. We had a wonderful Sunday.
