The rain from yesterday continued on and off all day. We did not do very much today. In the morning we loaded Flo into the car and went to town to do a little shopping. We stopped by Walmart to look for a cooking thermometer, the last time we smoked brisket the thermometer was going wild. Larry also thought the gauge for the propane tank was not working correctly. We found both items at Walmart. While we were looking for these items we found a cute little charcoal grill. We use to take a charcoal grill with us when we went camping but it took too much room and Larry was tired of trying to put it in the small compartment we have for storage so we stopped taking it. The one we found today will be perfect. The only problem with this one is the lip of the lid is very sharp. Before going to town Larry looked at the weekly sale insert from the paper
for HEB and Walmart. He found that the HEB in Temple had a meal deal
where you bought two DiGiorno pizzas and you get Nestle drumsticks, 2 liter
bottle of HEB soda and a salad kit free. We checked out the price of DiGiorno pizzas and decided to stop by Aldi and buy a couple of pizzas there instead.
On the way home we got a gallon of gas for our lawn mower. Last year we had a lawn service mow the yard for the entire season but this year we are not taking a long spring trip so we will mow it ourselves. Our mower has not been started in 18 months so it will probably take some work for Larry to get it running.
Larry finished the first review of my annual book about our yearly adventures so after lunch I started making changes to it. Usually on Wednesday evenings we drive to Georgetown and dance with the Shirts 'n' Skirts club but according to the news the rain had caused a huge wreck and traffic on I35 was backed up for miles so we decided not to go, instead we finished up the HBO series Parade's End. This series was a five part series and was taken from a five book series. The acting was very well done and I liked the ending very well.
