Smoked St. Louis Pork Ribs |
We have been experimenting with smoking brisket but we thought we wanted to try something new. Last week when we were grocery shopping we picked up a rack of St. Louis pork ribs. The rain was suppose to be coming back and we were going to hang around the house so we decided to smoke the ribs on the grill. Before starting the smoking process we went to the internet and did a little research. There were a lot of different opinions on how long to smoke ribs. Some people said that it would take three hours and others said it would take six hours. Well, Larry decided to smoke it like the brisket but not as long, he figured it would take five to six hours. We started the smoking process in the morning and monitored the temperature between 200 to 225 degrees. The grill cooked the ribs very slowly, we used a meat thermometer to monitor the process and about five hours later they measured 170. We took them off the grill and had them for dinner, they were excellent.

Yesterday when we were at Louise's her backup computer was giving her messages about upgrading to Windows 10 so we brought it home with us and while the ribs were smoking Larry worked on updating it. I finished the 2nd draft of my annual book and read.
Larry received an e-mail from Google Play about a free series called Moon Shot. The series had nine episodes of about 5 to 8 minutes each. People are competing for a 30 million dollar prize from Google to see who can successfully send a rocket and lunar module to the moon. People all around the world are entered in the contest. The episodes were interesting but watching it via Google Play was crazy, you had to sign in and pay for each episode individually even though they were free. You couldn't choose all the of them at the same time. We also watched a free animated movie called Bling. It wasn't that good. We had a very good day.
