A field of bluebonnets |
Here in Central Texas it looks like springtime. We love this time of the year, it's cool in the morning and highs during the day are normally in the 70's & 80's. As we were driving to the TIPS Spring-A-Ding Dance we saw fields of wildflowers. It's still early so we'll probably see a lot more. When we got to Allemande Hall there were only two vehicles besides ours. A few minutes later some more people showed up. Before the dance started we had a half hour Advance review workshop. The dance had two squares and the caller was Wendell Moore. In between the square dancing tips Wendell played a couple of songs. The dance was an hour and half this week because a few people had to leave early to get to a Lady Bears basket ball game. We had a nice time dancing to Wendell.
In the evening we watched the next two of episodes of The New Yorker. Episode 8 had three stories. The first one was called Friend of Bill which was about meeting Bill Murray. The second one was Eureka! With Brazil Twist, which was about a Brazilian puppeteer Basil Twist. The third one was The Hell Raiser which was about an apostate preacher Rob Bell. There was a cute short skit called Last Session which was about ending therapy with your therapist. Episode 9 had three stories, the first story was called The Silver Thief and was about a famous silver thief Blane Nordahl. The second story was called Up and Down which was about the elevator of life. The third story was Tom of Finland which was about an artist that changed the image of gay men. We watched episode 4 of Weird Homes which was called Inspired by Pain. One home was called The Button King, a gentleman in South Carolina has insomnia so he started gluing button to his home, car and other objects around the house. Another home was built out of screws because the owner has a lot of screws in his body. The other home was built by an ex-alcoholic, The Flowerman uses recycled junk to decorate his flowers and home. We also watched two episodes of Bosch. We had a relaxing evening.
