Thursday 10-24-24 Just Another Day

We had just another day doing our regular routine.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Two Game Tango Mini of 10 games (5 Klondike and 5 Pyramid). It took me 30 minutes and 45 seconds, which put me in 15th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds and Friends.

Larry finished a paper crafting project. 

Yesterday, Marty released a new pinball game, which was Superman and the Justice League. Larry installed the game on the cabinet in both 2D and VR. Then he played it to make sure it worked correctly. Then he went through some of the games to make sure they work correctly, yesterday after trying to fix the lighting on World Joker Poker he was concerned it may have messed up other games. He played a little pinball and had fun.

I played pinball. I played the new game Superman and the Justice League and five others. The other games were World Joker Poker, Maverick, Star Wars, Monster Bash and Godzilla. I didn't get on the board but I still had a great time.

After playing pinball I took a nap. When I woke up I worked out on the Synth Riders for an hour.

In the evening we watched a movie on Amazon called What We Did on Our Holiday. It was a cute comedy drama starring Rosamund Pike, David Tennant, Billy Connolly, Ben Miller and many more. Then I watched The Incredible Hulk. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 2nd place in my group.

Wednesday 10-23-24 Two Dances, Paper Project & More

 

We had a beautiful day with a lot of sunshine and a high of 91 degrees.

Larry spent the morning playing with the World Joker Poker game on the cabinet. While playing the game Larry noticed, that the lighting wasn't working correctly. He went on the developer's site and made a post on the problem he was having. Come to find out Larry wasn't the only one having this problem. The developer knows of the problem and suggested a fix. Larry tried it and while it worked it meant running an older version of a piece of software that does not work with some other games. He decided to just play the game as it is. Even though the lights don't light you still get credit for the tasks accomplished; such as ball save, ball lock, multiball and other tasks.

I attended two virtual dances. First was Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly Plus at 10:00 for an hour and fifteen minutes. Di and Terry usually take turns calling the five tips but today Di called the whole dance. Terry danced with her the first three tips but got winded so he sat out the other two tips. Di called to 9 participants. I had a great time dancing to Di and with friends.

The second was Dave Eno's Weekly C1/A2 at 6:00 for an hour and a half. This week Joe Uebelacker helped Dave call the dance. The format was three tips of C1, three tips of A2 and a couple of Trivia questions. Dave and Joe called one tip in both C1 and A2 a piece and called the third tip together. In both C1 and A2 there were 8 participants. It was nice to see Joe. I had fun dancing to Dave and Joe and with friends.

While I danced Larry worked on a paper project. 

In between the dances I worked out with the Synth Riders for an hour.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Easy Street Mini of 5 games. It took me 11 minutes and 24 seconds, which put me in 21st place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

Today Larry played a few games: World Joker Poker, Deadpool and Playboy. After he finished playing I played World Joker Poker, Deadpool, Maverick, Dirty Harry, Creature From The Black Lagoon and Star Trek. We had fun playing pinball.

I finished my last diamond painting Monday so Larry ordered six new ones. They came in this afternoon. They were from two different companies. I got two from Eiazuiks (Colorful Eye and Sea Turtle) and four from Stalenia (Tree of Life, Mandala, Tiger and Seaside House). Now I have to make a decision on which one to do.

After the dance we watched Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose on Amazon. It was a comedy adventure based on a true tale about a talking animal.  When Larry went to bed I watched Iron Man. I ended up doing 17,000 steps, which put me in 1st place in my group.

 

    

Tuesday 10-22-24 Dancing and Games

 

Just having fun

We had a super day of just relaxing.

Larry starts his day out by reading his e-mail, Facebook and other forums he follows. He was going through the pinball forums and came across a new pinball game that sounded fun. It is called World Joker Poker, it was made from World Tour Poker. There are call outs that were made from the TV show World Poker Tour. He installed it on the cabinet in both 2D and VR. Then he played it to make sure it worked correctly. He also played a couple more pinball games and had fun.

After breakfast we took the Minnie back to storage, we don't plan to use it for a bit and Larry hates keeping it in the driveway. 

On the way home we stopped at Walmart to pick up some bread and other items we were getting low on. While doing this we came across some new Campbell's soups, we picked up a few cans. 

For years Larry had been using a drip pan when changing the oil in the vehicles. When it's not being used for this it stores hoses and other items. Whenever he needs to use it he has to take the items out. Today when we were in Walmart he picked up another drip pan. Now he has two and doesn't have to remove the items when changing the oil.

When we got home I put the grocery away. Then it was time for attend Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly A2 dance t 10:00 for an hour. Di and Terry took turns calling five tips to 8 participants. Larry danced four of the tips with me. Yesterday when we were dancing we talked about Halloween decorations. During one of the breaks Larry showed the group the Dracula and Frankenstein he made for Halloween. They were a hit. We had a great time dancing with friends.

After the dance is was time for lunch. When we finished eating I went and took a nap for a couple of hours.

In the afternoon I played pinball. I played the new game World Joker Poker and Maverick. I also did the random button twice. The games it choose were Cactus Canyon, Creature From The Black Lagoon, Monster Bash, Who Dunnit, X-Men and Terminator 3. When I played Maverick I got a new high score of 554,040,900, which put me in 17th place out of 20 participants. I didn't get on the board in the games but I had a super afternoon playing pinball.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Two Game Tango Mini of 6 games (3 Klondike and 3 Tri Peaks). It took me 12 minutes and 54 seconds, which put me in 19th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

In the evening we watched The Mask on TUBI. It stars Jim Carrey, we had not watched it before and it was very funny. Then I watched the second movie in the Super Heroes collection. It was Captain America: The First Avenger. I ended up doing 17,000 steps, which put me in 1st place in my group.

Monday 10-21-24 Dancing, Diamond Painting & Games

We had a super day. 

We started the day out by attending Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly C1 dance at 9:00 for an hour and fifteen minutes. Di called five tips to 15 participants. Larry danced four of the tips with me. We had an outstanding time dancing with friends.

I spent most of the day working on my diamond painting and finished it.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Medium Mayhem Mini of 5 games. It took me 13 minutes and 34 seconds, which put me in 12th place in my group. Then I moved onto playing Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds and Friends.

While I worked out Larry played pinball. He played four games, which were Deadpool, Scared Stiff, Playboy and Maverick. He had a great day playing pinball. While he played Playboy he became Grand Champion and entered his initials in the Mansion Mania because he got all the Playmates. The other ones he did very well also. He challenged me to play the games he played because he knocked me off the board.

After I worked out I played Deadpool, Scared Stiff (3 times), Maverick, Playboy, Fast Break and Star Trek. When I played Maverick I got a new high score of 454,481,460 but Larry still had a better score. I played Scared Stiff because Larry challenged me and when I used the random button it picked Scared Stiff, Fast Break and Star Trek. At the end of playing Scared Stiff the second time I matched so I played it again. I like the random button because it picks games I hadn't played in a long time. I had a great day of pinball also.

In the evening we played with our Virtual Reality headsets. Larry ordered a new face guard, which has opening on the sides so you get more air and light. The headset is cooler while playing games. He thought it may help him with the motion sickness he gets while playing in Horizon Worlds. We played in Horizon Worlds. He thinks the motion sickness is better but after about an hour he was feeling a bit queasy so we stopped. We still had fun.

After Larry went to bed I watched the third and final The Hobbit movie called The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 2nd place in my group. This is a good beginning.

  

Sunday 10-20-24 Sundancer's Dance, Games, House Project & More

 

Having fun with friends

We had a wonderful day. The temperature got to 84 degrees.

We started the day off by doing a house project. Our back porch railing is made of plastic and during the tornado two of the pickets were damaged. They both had fairly large jagged holes.. We had one extra rail left from when we installed the railing. Today we decided to replace/repair the two damaged pieces. Larry removed the screws (6), that held the top rail onto the pickets. Then we removed the damaged rail and put a new one in it's place. The other damaged picket was in a different section. We removed the screws and the rail but this time we didn't have another picket. Larry decided to use the two broken ones to build one. He measured the distance he needed and cut the damaged parts off the old pickets. Then he used his mill to mill a piece of a  2X2 to fit inside the two pieces of pickets. The two pieces fit perfectly together and you can't tell. Then he screwed the screws back into the railing.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Pyramid Adventure of 20 games. It took me 1 hour, 52 minutes and 14 seconds, which put me in 24th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

I worked out with the Synth Riders for an hour.

Larry continued playing with the old computer and VR.

Today started a new pinball challenge, which is Maverick. Larry downloaded the table and installed it on the pinball cabinet in both 2D and VR. Then he played it to make sure it worked correctly. I played last week challenge, which was Elvira House of Horrors. I didn't get a new high score but I came in 50th place out of 60 participants.Then I played the new challenge and got 33,689,516 as my first high score. I'm in 5th place out of 5 participants so far.

In the evening we went to Sun City to dance plus with the Sundancers. We had two squares plus an extra couple. Gary Bible did an excellent job of calling the two hour dance. Before the dance we saw Brad Caldwell and his wife Paula. We hadn't seen them in many years. Brad told us he is having a dance next Saturday. We have not danced to him in years and we are looking forward to the dance. We also danced with Bruce and Pam who we hadn't seen in about the same amount of time. We had a great evening of dancing with the Sundancers and to Gary.

We got home about 9:00 and relaxed. When Larry went to bed I watched the second Hobbit movie, which was The Hobbit:The Desolation of Smaug. I ended up doing 16,000 steps, which put me in 1st place in my group for the week with the total of 121,310 steps.
