Friday 3-10 Special Dance

What a gorgeous day we had. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping and some wildflowers are blooming. It's not officially spring but today was a spring day until the clouds rolled in at 2:30.

We started the day out by going to town to do our weekly grocery shopping and picking up our mail at the UPS Store. While we were in town we swung by Dollar Tree and picked up bleach for our septic tanks. After doing these errands we returned to the house.

In the afternoon Flo took advantage of the sunshine and did a little sunning. We watched the pair of woodpeckers doing their thing in the oak tree. Occasionally another bird would come by and check the hole out. Larry read a book and I worked on my puzzle. I did an hour and fifteen minutes workout with my Gold's Gym ( thirty minutes) and Just Dance (Forty-five minutes.

For dinner I barbecued something new. When we went grocery shopping a couple of weeks ago we picked up a Western Grillers made by HEB called Hawaiian Luau, it is a chicken breast stuffed with bell pepper, onion and pineapple then wrapped with bacon. It was good but not as good as it sounded.

In the evening we went to Shirts 'n' Skirts for a Special Dance. The dance was a dance to raise money for Jim Shoemaker and his granddaughter Abby, they're both fighting cancer. There were over 10 squares of dancers and a lot of round dancers. Jim Hayes did the calling and Jerry and Lucy Pate did the cuing. They raised almost $5,000.00 via donations at the door and a silent auction. We saw people we haven't seen in a long time. It was a great night of dancing with friends for a special friend.
