Tuesday 10-7-25 Errands & Turkey Track Bluegrass Festival

Sunrise on the Arkansas River

We woke up to a gorgeous sunrise on the Arkansas River. The temperature was 62 degrees in Webbers Falls,OK. The high today was 87 in Waldron, AR.

I woke up at 7:15 and got dressed. I was lazy so we had Hostess coffee cakes for breakfast. We weren't in too big of a hurry because we only had 106 miles to go. After breakfast we got ready to go. We put everything away. We were on the road by 8:00.

Before leaving the campground I took a picture of the sunrise. Our drive today was down two lane roads. We started in Oklahoma and ended in Arkansas. We stopped in Sallisaw, OK to get gas and to go grocery shopping at Walmart.

Then we continued our adventure. When we were 26 miles from Waldron we stopped at a rest area where we had lunch and used the restroom.

After lunch we went to the Turkey Track Bluegrass Festival. We checked in and told them it was our first time. The lady explained how it worked. She gave us a badge to where at all times and the program. It cost $215 for five nights of camping and the entertainment. A gentleman in a golf cart led us around to find a site. We could park almost anywhere there was a plug in. The electrical boxes were on the trees and the sites were in the field. We decided on A7. Rick was very friendly and helpful.

We plugged in and setup the Minnie for our five days of camping. Then we walked around to see where the stage and bathrooms were. There are a few food trucks, a few cabins, store and a few sets of bathrooms, one has showers. We walked around for 20 minutes. It's a beautiful place with rows and rows of RV sites and a lot of trees. We were very surprised on how big the area was. They pump water out of the creek and use it to water the roads to keep the dust down. Some of the campers had their sites decorated for fall. It is very well organized.

At 3:00 they had a small golf cart parade to welcome people to the Turkey Track Festival. As the golf carts drove by they threw candy at the spectators. The golf carts were decorated. I stood out there and waved and took pictures. Our neighbors were here before, they placed an umbrella upside down so they could throw the candy in it instead of on the ground. It was very cute.

After dinner we walked around for about an hour for 1.75 miles.

By the end of the day I had done 9,000 steps.
