Monday 10-20-25 Dancing with Di, Electronics Projects & More

Beautiful Day

We had a beautiful day with a lot of sunshine. The low was 58 degrees and the high was 92 degrees.

We started the day by attending Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly C1 dance at 9:00 am. The dancers were happy to see Larry and me back. Di and Terry danced together while Di called five tips to 14 participants. We made a few little glitches because we hadn't danced in over two months. I made more glitches than Larry. Larry danced with me four of the five tips. We had a great time.

While we were on our trip our internet provider upped our speed from 300 Mbps to 600 Mbps. Our current cable modem only supported 300Mbps so Larry ordered a new one that supports higher speeds. After the dance Larry installed the new modem, he then had to call our provider to have them change their database and activate the modem. It took him a bit because when he called them the phone system would hang up on him. After a few tries he decided to chat with them. Once he chatted with them we are all set. He tested our devices to make sure they got the higher speed, they do. We will have to see in a year if our monthly bill  goes up.

Before leaving on our trip we bought a Starlink Mini device so we could get internet when our hotspot and phones didn't have service. It worked out great. We won't need it while at home. When we got back from our trip Larry put the Starlink in standby mode, it still works but is very slow. When it's in standby it cost $5.00 per month verses $50.00 per month. Today he setup the Starlink to see if it works in standby. It works perfect but slow, which means it will take awhile to load some sites that use a lot of data. When you are using Starlink the app will show you which direction to point the dish, today Larry played with pointing it in different directions, it seemed to still work, maybe the performance would suffer. However he did discover that the angle made a huge difference, if he laid it flat on the ground it would not work, if he uses the angle bracket it comes with it works.

While Larry was doing this project I continued reading the sixth book of Vienna Blood Death of the Maiden by Frank Tallis and finished it.

I played pinball on the big cabinet and the mini cabinet. On the big cabinet I played seven games, which were Gilligan's Island, Jaws, Mustang, Attack From Mars, The Addams Family, The Great Houdini and Dr. No. While playing Gilligan's Island I got a new high score of 19,469,980, which put me in 12th place out of 23 participants as soon as our scores are accepted. When I played Jaws I entered my initials as high score #4.

Later on I played four games on the mini cabinet, which were Three Angels, Dark Chaos, JP Space Cadet and Medieval Madness. While playing Dark Chaos I entered my initials as the Grand Champion.

While I played pinball on the big cabinet Larry played on the mini cabinet. He played Goldeneye, Dead Pool, Mission Impossible, Nightmare Before Christmas, James Bond 60th Anniversary and Medieval Madness. He had a great day of playing pinball, he entered his initials in Dead Pool, Mission Impossible and Medieval Madness. He was having a great game playing James Bond 60th Anniversary but it crashed.

Larry follows different groups to keep up on what's new in different things he's interested in. Today while reading about virtual pinball he found out, that someone updated Marty's Queen table with a VR room and PUP-PAC. He updated our table with the new version. He got it working and it works great. It has a lot more songs and videos from Queen.

I played one game of Pirate's Plunder on Bounce Arcade. I earned a silver trophy. I fought my enemies once and defeated them. I earned two Jolliest Rogers, Shelton Key and earned a new ball. I was surprised I scored a silver trophy because I didn't play the first ball too well. I had fun.

Larry is all caught up with his YouTube videos as far as he wants to.

In the evening we watched two episodes of Maigret on PBS. It a very good detective series. Then we watched some YouTube videos. When Larry went to bed I watched Top Gun.
