Sunday 10-19-25 Minnie Project, New Weekly Challenge & Playing Pinball

Awesome Day

We had an awesome day. It started out with the temperature of 62 degrees and a breeze. It got up to 80 degrees.

I crawled out of bed at 8:00 and got dressed. Larry was already working on the air conditioner on the Minnie.

On our trip we got a small leak coming from the air conditioner. Larry figured it was the seal around the bottom of the unit. It also started making a noise we hadn't heard before, Larry found the fan motor had a lot of wear. He did research on the parts. He found the motor and seal and ordered them both. The seal came in yesterday. This morning he climbed up on the roof and took the cover off the unit. I showed up just in time to help him put the cover on the ground. To replace the seal the entire AC unit must be removed. He turned it on its side and removed the old seal, then it took quite a bit of time to clean off the old adhesive. He started to put on the new seal and found it was too small. Everything Larry had read said all RV AC units used the same 14x14 seal, nope, apparently there was one series of Coleman AC units that used 14x16. He was able to find the correct one but it won't arrive until Thursday. He couldn't leave the hole open so temporarily he used the incorrect seal and placed the AC unit back over the hole. The new motor should arrive about the same time as the seal.

While he was working on the AC unit he discovered the rubber grommets the compressor sits on were worn out. He found some rubber mounts in his stuff and used those to repair them.

Our primary laptop computer is seven years old. It sits on the desk plugged into the wall and is used everyday. When we travel we will use it via its battery and charge it when we need to. At the very beginning of our trip we discovered the battery had gone bad, it would not hold a charge for more than a few minutes. Of course there was no way to replace it on the road so we had to always plug it in to use it. Larry had to tear it apart to find out what battery it used, then reassemble it and order the battery. The battery arrived and he got it installed. I don't know how many more years we will have this computer but hopefully the new battery will last as long as the computer.

Projects continue

While Larry worked on the Minnie I continued reading Death of the Maiden.

Today is a start of a new weekly challenge in pinball. It doesn't start until 2:00 pm so I had time to play last week challenge of F-14 Tomcat. I played it for an hour. One game was doing outstanding I got over 3,000,000 points but the game crashed. I continued playing the game and I was unsuccessful in getting a new high score. I ended up getting 1,483,630 as my final high score, which put me in 61st place out of 71 participants. Larry download this week's challenge, which is Gilligan's Island. Then he installed the games in both 2D and VR. It's a cute game. My first high score was 4,798,340, which put me in 7th place when it's approved.

Gilligan's Island

Larry and I played pinball on both the mini cabinet and the big cabinet. Larry played Gilligan's Island, The Creature From the Black Lagoon, Dark Chaos, Time Lord, Willow and Dr. No on the big cabinet. He played Cactus Canyon and Jaws on the mini cabinet. I played the same games as Larry on the big cabinet. I played Attack From Mars, Cactus Canyon and Jaws on the Mini cabinet. While I played Time Lord I entered my initials as high score #2 and Willow I entered my initials as high score #2. When I played Jaws I entered my initials as high score #1 and Attack From Mars I entered my initials as high score #2 on the mini cabinet. It was a long time since we played on the mini cabinet, something had updated and it took awhile for Larry to get it going. We had a super time playing pinball.

We watched YouTube videos.

In the evening we finished watching the second season of Vienna Blood on PBS. When Larry went to bed I watched Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.
