6-7 Swimming, Shopping and Removing Bugs

Super Day
We woke up to another day of sunshine. After breakfast we loaded Flo into the car and headed to town. The first stop was Nolan Creek to see if the water had gone down. We were in luck the water was down and the current wasn't as strong as the other day. Flo sat up and started to whine. She really wanted to go swimming so we stopped. We parked in the parking lot behind the appraisal district building. Larry was going to read the paper while Flo and I walked but he changed his mind. We walked around for about a half hour. Flo explored the smells from the rain and swam. While walking around we saw a family tubing down the creek. It was a beautiful morning. The next stop was HEB to do our weekly grocery shopping. Then we went to The UPS Store to get our mail. The last stop was Walmart.

Grocery Shopping
Swimming in Nolan Creek
Yesterday, Larry opened the refrigerator and noticed it was not as bright as normal. He could see the light bulb at the top was working but he wondered if there might be another bulb somewhere else. He could not find another bulb so he got the manual out to see what it said. I told him he was helpless so I went to the refrigerator to look for it, well I couldn't find one either. He found out there were two more bulbs under a cover behind the crisper. We took out the crisper and found that both lights were out. We had one so Larry replaced one. Then we put the drawer back inside the refrigerator but it wouldn't fit. We tried to assemble it for close to a half hour. We finally figured out we were trying to put the drawer in the wrong place. Today, while we were shopping at HEB we looked for the light bulb, Larry found them but didn't like the cost so when we were in Walmart we looked for the light bulb, they did not have what we wanted. When we got home Larry checked Amazon to see how much the light bulbs are, he found out they were more expensive on Amazon than in town so we'll buy them locally.

Removing tar with Gunk Tar & Bug Remover
Buffing the bugs and tar off car
After lunch I did some housework. While I was doing this Larry blew out the garage and the porches. Clouds had come in and the temperature wasn't bad so he decided to remove the bugs and tar from the car. First he tried using Goo Gone, it took some of them off but he wasn't happy. Next he tried Gunk, Tar and Bug Remover, it took a lot of the tar off but he still wasn't happy. Finally he got his small buffer out along with a cleaner wax and buffed everything clean. It worked a lot better and it was definitely faster. We really need to wax the car, another project for another day. For the rest of the afternoon we relaxed, Larry and I read. Flo and I slept.

Watching Television
Tuesday night is our night off from square dancing so we watched television. We watched an American Masters episode called Tanaguil Le Clercq, which was about a star ballerina with the New York City Ballet, her career, influence in dance and her struggle with polio. It was a very good documentary. Larry found a series called Indie Alaska on PBS on the ROKU, there are 33 five minutes episodes about people and their lives in Alaska, we watched a few episodes. We had a very good day.
