6-10 Swimming, Mowing, Laundry and Resting

Busy Day
I got up early again. My plan was to mow the yard early in the day but the grass was too wet from the morning dew. Larry worked on the car. Yesterday while Larry was cleaning the plastic on the car he noticed a wire hanging down so this morning he jacked the car up and climbed under it to find out where it belonged. He found it had popped out of its mount so he popped it back in. While under the car he saw that one of the plastic covers was loose. He found one of the clips was broken so he tied the cover into place with zip ties for a temporary fix. Then we loaded Flo into the car and headed to town. Flo hasn't gone swimming for a few days so we stopped at Nolan Creek. Today the current was flowing normally. The city was still working on the area by the restaurants so we parked where we did the other day. While Flo and I walked around Larry wiped down the plastic with a different protector. He wasn't totally pleased with the protector he used yesterday so when we were shopping he bought a different protector. When he finished doing this the plastic was shiner and he was pleased with this one. Flo and I walked around for about a half hour. Flo swam, chased the ducks and explored. As we were walking around I picked up trash and a couple of broken beer bottles. The trash wasn't ours but it upsets me when I see trash on the ground, it's not like trash cans are not available. I asked Larry to take care of Flo while I threw the trash away. After putting Flo back into the car we headed to Don Ringler Chevrolet to see about the clip for our Equinox. They didn't have it in stock but they could order it. Larry asked how much it was. The gentleman said we needed seven of them and it was $10 dollars a piece, we didn't buy them there. Larry asked for a print out of the schematic for that area of the car and by looking at that he could tell there were actually only four clips and we are missing two of them. The next stop was O'Reilly Auto Parts where we found some, got a pack of seven for $2.50.

Larry has lots of feet problems, for dancing he has two pairs of New Balance tennis shoes that he uses in conjunction with Dance Socks. The pair he has had the longest is starting to give him a problem with one of his feet so we stopped at Academy to buy a new pair. Academy didn't have his size in stock. They said they could place an order and have them shipped directly to us, shipping would be free so he ordered a pair. They are suppose to be here between 3 to 5 working days, he's hoping they arrive in time for the state convention in Waco.

As we were headed back home we started talking about different places to eat. We talked about different pizza parlors. Larry said he thought that Little Caesar has a $5.00 take out pizza. We hadn't been to a Little Caesar in over 30 years and a brand new one had opened up recently so we stopped by and bought a pepperoni pizza for our lunch and dinner. It was actually very good.

After lunch I mowed both the front and back yards. I left Flo inside considering she was tired from her morning swim and it was cooler for her in the house. It took me two hours, by the time I finished I was exhausted and hot. While I mowed Larry weedeated and blew off the driveway. He also treated for fire ants. When he was finished Flo and he cooled off on the back porch. Next week were going to Waco to attend the 54th Annual Texas State Square and Round Dance Festival so we won't be able to mow. While I was cooling off I did laundry.

Watching Television
We had a busy morning and afternoon but in the evening we relaxed and watched television. We watched some YouTube videos on RV Living. We streamed two episodes of American Masters. The first one was a documentary on Mel Brooks: Make A Noise. They interviewed Mel Brooks and actors and actresses he worked with. The second one was Sister Rosetta Tharpe: The Godmother of Rock and Roll. It was a biography about Sister Rosette Tharpe, she was an African-American gospel and guitar virtuoso. It was a documentary of her life, music and her influence on the music world. The two documentaries were very good. After watching television I worked on my jig saw puzzle. We had a busy day.
