We woke up this morning and got ready to return to Albuquerque for The Albuquerque International Balloon Festival. The other day we saw some of the balloons go up in the mass ascension but this time we wanted to walk the grounds and look at the different shaped balloons. We’re not going to the festival today but we wanted to find out where we could park the Minnie during the event. We arrived in Albuquerque around 11 and drove to the balloon park. There wasn’t anything going on at this time but Larry talked to one of the people directing traffic and asked about parking. He told us we could park the Minnie anywhere but if we came between 3 and 4 in the morning we could park for free and we wouldn’t have to sit in a long line. They start charging at 4:30 when the gates open. We thanked him and went away. It was lunchtime so we went to Fuddruckers for lunch. After lunch we took Flo for a walk. It was too early to call it a day so we went to The Albuquerque Museum and walked through Old Town.

Albuquerque Museum was a very nice museum with seven galleries. Gallery 1 and Gallery 2 were galleries called Making It Modern through Folk Art Collections of Elie and Viola Nadelman. The art collections were beautiful and had a lot of character. Gallery 3 was called Under the Influence: Psychedelic Art. Some of the displays were bright with color. If you’re into abstract art there were some nice displays. Gallery 4 and Gallery 5 are both ongoing all the time. Gallery 4 was called Common Ground, which were the different art in New Mexico. Gallery 5 was called Only in Albuquerque, which was all about the history of Albuquerque. Gallery 6 was called Rad Gadgets, which displayed all gadgets in Albuquerque. Gallery 7 was still under construction. The grounds of The Albuquerque Museum was great, it had a lot of sculptures and talked about the history of Albuquerque. One big display was about the immigration of people to Albuquerque in 1598. We had a great time walking through the exhibits in the museum.

Old Town was right outside of the Albuquerque Museum so we decided to talk through the shops. Old Town was set up great with a lot of shops. Some Native Americans were outside some of shops selling their wares and make the jewelry. We walked around the shops for about an hour. As we walked there were bands playing in a big beautiful park. There were also Native Americans playing songs. We had fun walking through the shops. When we got back to Flo, she was very excited to see us. I took her for a little walk around the parking lot. Afterwards we drove to Sandia Resort and Casino, where we stayed for the night.

I had a super time at Sandia Casino. I gambled for five and a half hours and made $1. I enjoy gambling because it’s cheap entertainment and keeps me entertained for hours. While I’m gambling Larry stays with Flo and reads. Life Is Good!!!!
