Wednesday 5-6-26 Back in Oklahoma, WinStar Casino & Resort and Driving

Rest Area in Oklahoma

We had a wonderful day. The morning temperature was a chilly 44 degrees in Concordia, Kansas. The high temperature was 64 degrees in Thackerville, Oklahoma. The skies were mainly blue with some clouds rolling in and out. It was windy.

I woke up at 6:45 am to go to the bathroom and decided it wasn't worth going back to bed because I was going to get up in a half hour. I got dressed and we put things away and secure. Then we had a quick breakfast, which got us on the road by 7:15 am.

Concordia, Kansas is a beautiful city park but there isn't anything to do there. It's perfect for an overnight stay.

We had a long day of driving. We started on the road at 7:15 am and stopped at 4:15 pm. Larry drove 425 miles. This was the furthest he had gone in one day during the trip. He was going to stop at 240 miles. When we stopped to have lunch Larry asked me if I wanted to go all the way WinStar Casino & Resort or go to a smaller casino and a city park for the night. I said we could go to WinStar if he was feeling up to it. He said we would get there by 4:30 because it was another 225 miles. He said he was fine.

The drive today was on two interstates I135 and I35. We drove through Wichita, Kansas and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We drove I135 until we were through Wichita. Then we picked up I35. The traffic wasn't too bad getting through Wichita but the traffic did pick up when we got to Oklahoma City. It was probably the timing, we got to Oklahoma City at 2:00 and Wichita it was about 9:30. We stopped a few times along the way. We stopped twice for fuel, twice to stretch and go to the bathroom and once to have lunch. We had a good day.

We stopped twice to get gas, a total of  $207.30. The first stop cost $111.28 for 27.83 gallon, which was 3.999 per gallon. Second stop was $96.02 for 24.63 gallons at 3.889 per gallon.

After filling the Minnie up the second time we drove another 28 miles to WinStar Casino & Resort. We stopped at the office to get a spot. The lady, who helped us was very nice and gave us a spot by the bathroom. I was a club member so we got the site for $25.00 per night. She gave us a map of the RV park to get to our spot, which was #315. We have been here multiple times so we knew where to go. We setup the Minnie up for two nights. Then it was time for dinner.

After dinner I went and caught the shuttle to go to the casino. I gambled for two hours and lost $15.00 and tipped the driver $2.00. That's not too bad to be entertained for two hours. I was disappointed because the bingo area was closed due to an ice storm Oklahoma had six months ago. The ceiling fell and they are trying to rebuild the area. The bingo area was the only non-smoking area in the casino.

WinStar changed their name to WinStar World Casino in 2009. It's the largest casino in the world. It unique because it has eight different casinos inside, which are Madre, Cairo, London, Beijing, Paris, Vienna, Rome and New York. Each casino has statues representing the country and slots. It is a beautiful casino.

Larry is a great guy, he's always thinking about me. He knows how much I like to go to a casino and gamble. Today he drove an extra 200 miles so I could just do that. I don't gamble a lot of money but I have fun.

After gambling I came back to Larry. While I played games and gambled Larry finished a book, he said it wasn't very good.

I played my games. I played the Daily Challenges of  Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: World Tour Mini of 5 games. It took me 13 minutes and 5 seconds to complete, which put me in 21st place in my group. I played Angry Birds Friends and Angry Birds 2.

By the end of the day I had done 3,600 steps.
