Saturday 5-9-26 Movie, Laundry & Projects

Happy Saturday

We had a wonderful day. The morning temperature was 68 degrees and overcast with a little fog. It got up to 91 degrees. The clouds rolled in and out all day.

Larry woke me up at 7:45. Then we had a quick breakfast. Then we went to town. Larry surprised me by taking me to see Project Hail Mary.

The other day when we were driving home we talked about movies we enjoyed to watch. One was The Matrix. There was so much in the movie we saw it twice. Then when it was released on DVD we bought it.

Project Hail Mary is another movie like that. It was released about the time we left on our Spring Trip. When we were in Springfield, Mo. we went and saw it. So this morning we went and watched it again. It's a great movie and so was the book. By watching it a second time I didn't know how much I missed the first time. After the movie we went home.

When we got home Larry did a couple of projects. One was adding freon in the car because the air conditioner wasn't as cold as it should. Once the freon was put in the car it worked great.

Second was the faucet in the Minnie's kitchen is dripping. Yesterday I put a cloth under the faucet and today I noticed the cloth was soaking wet. Larry took it apart thinking maybe he could fix it. He purchased it ten years ago, it was an inexpensive faucet and is no longer available. Today he decided just to order a new one.

My drivers license is due for renewal this year. Larry tried to renew it via the internet but kept getting an error. He was finally successful by using the phone renewal process. Lots of questions but it worked and was certainly easier than going to the licensing office.

I played games. I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Two Game Tango Mini of 10 games (5 Free Cell and 5 Pyramid). It took me 1 hour, 50 minutes and 24 seconds, which put me in 12th place in my group. I played Angry Birds Friends and Angry Birds 2.

Yesterday, Larry bought a couple of movies, he downloaded and added them to our movie collection.

I played five games of pinball on the big cabinet. The first game was the Daily Challenge of Elvira Scared Stiff. My first high score was 7,290,230, which put me in 82nd out of 111 participants. The other four games were Big Bang Bar, Blizzard of Ozz, Dr. No and Fish Tales. While playing Blizzard of Ozz I became high score #2. I had a good day of pinball.

I started doing laundry from our trip.

In the evening we watched The Glass Castle on Hoopla. It was a based off a true story of Jeannette Walls' 2005 memoir. It starred Woody Harrelson (as her father), Naomi Watts (as her mother) and Brie Larson as the adult Jeannette Walls. It was about her childhood, which was an unconventional and impoverished childhood with her eccentric, nonconformist parents and siblings as the moved around the United States. It was an ok movie. When Larry went to bed I watched The Good-bye Girl on Hoopla.

By the ended of the day I had done 4,000 steps. I also worked on my jigsaw puzzle a little bit.
