Friday 5-17 Mowing the Backyard

Hot Day

We had a hot and humid day. The temperature got up to 88 degrees.

Lately Larry has been doing a bunch of playing with internet routers. A couple of weeks ago he took an older router he kept for backup and loaded some new code on it. The real goal in this was to be able to monitor how much data each device uses. He found some code he really likes and while the old router ran it fine it simply is not powerful enough and our internet connection has slowed down. Our connection is still plenty fast (about 100mbs) but it bugged Larry that it was slower so he bought a new router. The router arrived yesterday and today he started working on replacing the code on it. He loaded it with a different code than he is currently using on our old router. It took all day and it is running on his work bench. It is really fast, almost 300mbs. He is not yet ready to put the entire house on it, when he does switch everything over he will run it for a week and decide if he likes this code or if he wants to install the one he has on the old router. Always something to play with.

While he was playing with the router I finished mowing the backyard. It took me about an hour to mow and weedeat.

I also started reading a book called America's First Daughter, it is a fiction book about Thomas Jefferson's first daughter. It's very well written so far. 

In the evening we watched an Amazon movie called Sisters of War. It was a good movie about two Australian women during World War II. One was a nurse and the other one was a nun. It was a true story but the names were changed. Then I watched a few episodes of Suits. We had a great day.
