Saturday 8-19 Transcontinental Art Fair

We woke up with nothing on our agenda. Larry read that The Temple Transcontinental Art Fair was going on at the Mayborn Convention Center today and tomorrow. That's where we went this morning. It didn't start until 10:00 so we had some time to kill.

Larry is going to change the oil in the Minnie before we leave on our trip so we stopped at Walmart to buy an oil filter, air filter and oil. The next stop was The Home Depot to see if they had any rotating sprinkler head to replace a couple heads that are deteriorating in the backyard. They didn't have the exact one that Larry was looking for so we didn't buy anything. Last week when we went shopping at Target we received a $5 gift card because we had bought three Haynes products so after walking around The Home Depot we walked over to Target to spend the gift card. We found something we needed and used the card.

By the time we finished doing errands it was time for the Transcontinental Art Fair. Last year the art fair was at the Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum and there wasn't a lot of room so some artists weren't there. Today there were a lot more booths. There were oil and acrylic paintings, jewelry, prints, photography, woodcrafts, mixed media and leather goods. Admission was free. We saw some cool pens made out of wood that looked like guns. There were a lot of talented artists. We liked a few paintings but we have no where to put them. We always enjoy walking around looking at the displays.

Once we were at home we didn't leave. I did some Sudoku, worked on my annual book and worked out for an hour with Just Dance and Gold's Gym. Larry finished reading a book.

When it was time for dinner I fried some potatoes and put some Chorizo in them. They tasted good this way. In the evening we watched our YouTube videos and the first Indiana Jones movie. The movie was called Raiders of the Lost Art, it was made in 1981. We hadn't watched it in a long time and we really enjoyed it.
