Thursday 5-17 Spectacular Day

Having fun with friends

We had another spectacular day of DBD square dancing to Jerry Story. We started our day by going to Allemande Hall where Jerry again called two, two hour sessions with a two hour break in between, the dance started at 9:00. Jerry is an amazing caller and very challenging. He will combine moves or parts of moves and makes up moves. Today they had a few open tips to allow people to rest if they wanted. I danced every tip and Larry sat out a couple, I had fun dancing a tip with Harold and another with Dalbert. Jerry called an A tip after each session and we had two squares. We had a super day of dancing with friends and to Jerry.

We got home at 4:00 and were exhausted so we took a nap. We thought by taking a nap we may be rested enough to go to Sun City to dance A with the Sundancers but decided to stay at home. I was looking out the back window and saw a big bird walking around the backyard. At first we thought it was a buzzard because we have a few flying around all the time. It wasn't a buzzard, it was a wild turkey. As we were watching a deer came out of the trees and checked the turkey out. Then they went back to doing their own thing. We have never seen a wild turkey in our yard before, very exciting.

Tonight we watched the new Marvel movie Black Panther. We usually like the Marvel movies but we were not impressed with this one. We had a spectacular day.

Wednesday 5-16 Dancing DBD with Jerry Story

Square dancing is having fun with friends

This morning I worked on my jigsaw puzzle and Larry finished changing the oil in the boat. When we got home from the lake yesterday Larry drained the oil and replaced the oil filter. This morning he put fresh oil in and cleaned up. Afterwards he went back to working on Louise's puzzle turn table. He put on a second coat of polyurethane. He needs to put on one more coat but he has to wait until it drys. In between each coat he has to sand it. The table is looking great.

For the next two days Jerry Story is calling Plus DBD dances at Allemande Hall. Today the dancing was two, two hour sessions with two hours in between for dinner. It started at 3:00 and was over at 9:00. At the end of each session Jerry called an A tip, which had two squares. There were six squares and an extra couple of dancers. The dancing is computer run so we spent most of the time dancing. Jerry called eight tips during each session. The last tip was open we decided to sit out so I could take pictures. We always enjoy dancing to Jerry because he is very enthusiastic. We had a super day dancing with friends.

Tuesday 5-15 First Day of Boating

Awesome Day

It's the time of year where we put the boat in the lake. Since acquiring the motorcycle we have been parking it near the front of the boat and it would have to be moved every time we take the boat out of the garage, time to rearrange the garage. We moved a shelve from the front of the garage to the back and this allows the motorcycle to be parked in front of the truck. This project didn't take as long as we thought because we only had to move a small shelving unit instead of the big unit we have.

The next thing we did was prepare the boat. We pulled it out of the garage, reinstalled the battery, hooked a hose up to the boat and started it up. Then we loaded up life jackets, water toys (wake board, wake surfer, ski and air chair) and gloves. Once everything was in the boat we loaded into the truck and headed towards Rogers Park on Lake Belton. The lake was very calm considering there wasn't any wind. The water temperature was 74 degrees which is a bit cool but Larry decided to ski. He got right up, since it was the first time this year he didn't go too far and didn't ski too hard. When he finished skiing it was my turn. I got right up and then I fell down. It took me awhile but I was able to get up again. We had a super time at the lake.

I'm up again and having fun

In the afternoon I decided to start a jigsaw puzzle. The name of the puzzle is Old Shoe House. This puzzle is going to be challenging considering the pieces are mini in size and it has 2000 pieces. But it will be fun to assemble.

After dinner we watched a PBS show from Amazon called Arthur & George. There was only one season, it had 3 episodes and each episode was 45 minutes long. It was a Sherlock Holmes series but didn't have Sherlock, instead it had the author in it. It was very good. We had a relaxing night.

Monday 5-14 Visiting the Dentist

Super Day

We started the day out by going to the dentist. During my last checkup they found a tooth on the lower left that needed a filling so today he numbed me up and filled the tooth. Hopefully this will take care of the problem. It didn't take him long but it took three hours before I could eat anything. It's still a little tender on that side but its fine.

I also have a tooth on the upper left in the far back that has had a problem with a receding gum for more than 10 years. The dentist thought he could solve the problem but it has persisted and now the tooth has become very sensitive to both hot and cold and sometimes bothers me when I eat. I made an appointment to have it pulled next month.

During the afternoon I finished reading Heretic, it was 416 pages long. I enjoyed reading it but it may not be for everyone considering it has a lot of violence. While I read Larry put another coat of stain on the puzzle board.

In the evening we went to Sun City to dance with the Sundancers. We had six squares of dancers. Brad called an hour of mainstream and an hour of plus. There were enough people to have one tip of A and three people tapped in. We had a super evening of dancing with friends and to Brad.

Sunday 5-13 Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day.

Louise and Alice came out in the morning to celebrate Mothers Day with us. We visited for a bit and then we had lunch. I barbecued seasoned boneless pork ribs and we had potato salad. For dessert we had Edwards chocolate cream pie. While Louise was here they called their mother to wish her a Happy Mothers Day. We had a great visit with Louise and Alice.

In the afternoon Larry worked on modifying Louise's puzzle board. Using a heat gun he was able to finish removing the felt, then he used a sander to remove the dried on glue and small pieces of felt. Next he cleaned the surface and applied a coat of stain, tomorrow he will decide if it needs another coat. It is time consuming but Larry enjoys doing projects. While Larry worked on the board I read.

In the evening we watched YouTube videos and an Amazon movie called Gold Star. It was a very slow moving movie and I didn't really understand what it was about. Afterwards we watched the finale of the second season of Unforgotten. Then I read until it was time to go to bed. We had very good day.

Saturday 5-12 Visiting Louise

Smile and be happy

Yesterday Larry called his sister Louise, she said she was having trouble getting her lawn mower to run so this morning we headed to Round Rock. The mower would start but then it would stall, Larry thought maybe it was the spark plug so off to Lowe's we went to get a spark plug. With the new spark plug and a little starting fluid he got it running. Louise was happy, she didn't want to buy a new mower. Larry also did a bit of work rearranging Louise's Roku's and he worked on her computer homepage, afterwards, Louise treated us to lunch at Taco Bell. While Larry was doing projects I worked on her jigsaw puzzle and played with Alice. We had a great visit with Louise and Alice.

When we got home I did some housework and Larry worked on a Lazy Susan puzzle spinner for Louise, when she is assembling a jigsaw puzzle it allows her to rotate it around. She used it for a bit and discovered the felt surface made it difficult to move the puzzle pieces. Larry decided to see if he could remove the felt to make it easier to move the puzzle pieces on it. Getting the felt off is very difficult, he worked on it for over an hour and might have got about 25% off.

Doing housework

In the evening we finished watching this season of Bosch. Then we watched an Amazon movie called Crooked House, it was an Agatha Christie movie. It was a little weird and I didn't like the ending. I was surprised considering it had a lot of good actors and actresses in it. We had a very nice day. LIFE IS GOOD!!!!

Friday 5-11 Putting the Minnie in Storage

It was a very windy day

What should we do today?

The Minnie was dirty from our trip so we decided to give it a bath. Larry washed down the Minnie and I dried it off. After washing it Larry cleaned the wheels. We have now done all the maintenance that needed to be done and cleaned it inside and out, it is ready for our next trip.

The Minnie is ready for its next adventure

We have an area on the side of the house where we can park the Minne but we prefer to store it indoors so after washing it we took it to storage.

I decided to make potato salad for this weekend and I needed a onion so on the way home we stopped at Walmart.

While we were on our trip we didn't watch any of the GizWiz shows so we're behind. After lunch we started to catch up on the GizWiz. It will take us a few days considering each episode is about an hour long and we missed seven weeks. We have caught up on all the other YouTube videos we follow.

In the evening we watched four episodes of Bosch and we have a couple more left. While I was watching Bosch I made potato salad. We had a busy morning but our evening was very relaxing.
