11-13 Fantastic Day

Jerry Story
What a fantastic day!!! We got up this morning had breakfast and then we finished loading the Minnie. Larry likes to avoid interstates (especially I35) as much as much as possible so he rerouted the GPS to a bit longer route but it was a pretty drive and a lot less stressful. We left the house before lunch so we stopped in Corsicana at a Taco Casa. As we were driving we noticed water standing in the fields and along side the road. Obviously there had been a lot of rain, we began to worry a bit about the camp spots at Promenade Hall since they are simply spots in a field but when we arrived the field was in great condition. We setup the Minnie for the weekend. There were people already setup and they had dogs so Flo wanted to go play. She really wanted to play but she couldn't keep up with the other dogs. There were four other dogs, three of them were small dogs that were full of energy. The fourth dog was a Great Dame and lab mix he wanted to play but he was too big. One of the smaller dogs jumped at him so he jumped back and they played a little. Flo had a great time just meeting all the dogs.

Round dancing to Walter Brewer
In the evening we went to the opening dance. We got there a little early to pay for the weekend and to visit with our friends and other dancers. There were fourteen squares and a lot of round dancers. We had an outstanding time at the dance. Jerry Story calls fast and this makes it more fun. We said hi to people we had met in Colorado at Fun Valley. After the dance Mina and John invited us over to their RV for coffee. We don't drink coffee but we had a great time visiting with them and getting to know them better. When we got home Flo was sound asleep on the couch. We had so much fun dancing to Jerry, we are looking forward to the rest of the weekend.

11-12 Getting Ready for Tool Texas

Getting ready for a weekend of square dancing in Tool
I'm excited about going on another trip even though it's only for the weekend. The Log Cabin Swingers in Tool, Texas are having a weekend of plus square dancing with Jerry Story calling. This morning we went and got the Minnie out of storage, on the way home we stopped and filled it up with gas. We had cleaned it up before we put it in storage so there wasn't much to do to it. Larry dumped the tanks and I loaded it up for the weekend with clothes and other items we needed.

Square Dancing to Ed Larder
In evening Larry and I went to Gatesville with Louis and Belinda to go square dancing with the Coryell County Squares. There were enough people for two squares of mainstream and plus tips. Ed played records in between tips for people to dance to if they wanted. The club provided a lot of delicious food and I brought some cookie dough brownies. We had a fun time eating, dancing and visiting with all our friends.

11-10 Just Another Day

Square Dance Lessons
We hung around the house all day. I worked on my annual book and worked on a jig saw puzzle. Larry finished reading a book and started another. Flo laid on the back porch most of the day and once in awhile she would go on the front porch. When she wasn't outside she would be under the desk or on her bed sleeping. I made a pot of ham hock and beans for dinner and I also baked a cinnamon crumb cake to take to lessons. After dinner we went to our club's last night of lessons.  This week Larry and I were needed to help angel the lesson. Dale finished up the lesson a half hour early. When we got back it was a little before 9:00 so I worked on my jig saw puzzle and book. Larry checked his e-mail and read some of the forums he follows. We had another relaxing day.

11-9 Square Dancing with the Sundancers

Friendship Circle
We didn't do too much today. We're caught up with house projects and we didn't need to do any errands in town. Flo was pestering Larry about going somewhere so he asked me if I would take her for a walk. Last week when I took her for a walk she was tired and limping by the time we got back and I felt very guilty for walking her too far. After eating lunch I gave in and took her for a walk. We were only going to go down the street and back but we ended up walking for about a half hour. I'm such a softy I let Flo decide how far to go. I wanted her to turn around by her friend Ripley's house but she wanted to continue around the corner of the street. By the time we got back she was tired but she wasn't limping as bad as last time. Hopefully she won't limp for two days like she did after her last walk.

Brad had seven mainstream squares and five for plus. After the dance he had one advance square and three other dancers rotated inside the square. Brad called six mainstream tips, two plus and one advance. We had a fantastic time.

11-8 Another Beautiful Day

What a beautiful day!!!!!!
It was a beautiful day, the rain was gone and the sun was shining, it was a little windy and comfortably cool outside. Flo spent a lot of time outside sunning either on the front porch or back porch. I spent the day working on my annual adventure book and working on my jig saw puzzle. Larry spent the day reading the paper and watching Before You Buy and a few episodes of TED TV. In the evening we watched our weekly show Home Fires and I am Big Bird which was a 2014 documentary about Caroll Spinney, he has played Big Bird for over 40 years. It was a very good documentary. We had a great day!!!

11-7 More Light

Gober Party House
St. Luke Catholic Church
In the morning we went to Temple to walk through a couple of arts and crafts events. One was at the Gober Party House, some ladies showed and sold handmade decor and gifts for the Holidays. The other one was the Fall Arts and Crafts Show at St. Luke Catholic Church. Both events were small but there were a lot of unique knickknacks.

Bathroom Medicine Cabinet Lighting
Removing the light fixture
Installing new light strip
Finished result
We have been in our house almost two years and we decided it was time to improve on our master bathroom lighting. We knew when we put the medicine cabinet in it would block some of the light from the sink vanity, this really didn't hurt anything but it did create some shadows on the sides and bottom of the medicine cabinet. The other day Larry ordered a couple of reels of LED lights. They were delivered yesterday. In the afternoon Larry decided to install the new lights. First of all Larry removed the light fixture above the medicine cabinet. Then he installed an electrical box to get power to the light strip. Once he got the power done he started putting the light strip around the medicine cabinet. He put the strip up with electrical tape to see how it looked before permanently putting the strip in. The strip had double stick tape on the back of it for the permanent install. I helped Larry when he needed it. Now when we turn on the light switch both the original light and the LED light strip come on at the same time, very cool. Larry did a super job.

In the evening we watched a movie called Danny Collins, it was about an aging rock star. It stars Al Pacino, Annette Bening, Jennifer Garner and Bobby Cannavale. It was not a great movie but it was entertaining. Then we watched Alphas and Omegas 2. We had a relaxing night.
