Finished Waxing the Minnie |
Today was beautiful, it was a little cooler than yesterday and there was a breeze, Larry decided it was time to finish waxing the Minnie. About a week ago Larry washed and started waxing the Minnie. As he was waxing it he ran out of wax. He has used the same wax for years, you used to be able to buy it in retail stores but now you can only get it directly from the manufacture. He thought he had some left in a gallon container but unfortunately it had dried up so he ordered another gallon . The wax came in so he decided to finish waxing the Minnie. He started by working on the rear of the Minnie. The rear was a bit faded so before he waxed it he needed to polish it, he used his small electric polisher along with a buffing compound and the correct pad, when he got to the ladder he had to do it by hand. Once he finished polishing he waxed it with the same electric polisher using the new wax and a different pad. Next he moved to the cab, when he finished the cab he took a break to have lunch. After lunch he turned the Minnie around so he could do the last side. He wanted the side out of the direct sunlight so he could see what he was doing. He had to polish one small area and then wax the entire side. The couple of areas behind the awning support bars he had to do by hand. When he finished applying the wax I wiped it off. Now the Minnie is washed and waxed.

When he finished this project he did another small one. The Minnie is over twenty years old and it has the original awing on it. We never use it so it is always rolled up but the material where it attaches to the side of the Minnie is deteriorating due to the exposure to the sun. Larry was concerned that it might tear while going down the road so he put Gorilla tape along the top edge of the material. He worked on the Minnie about five hours today, much of that time was up and down a ladder, he might be a bit sore tomorrow.
The other day when we went grocery shopping we picked up some seasoned pork. I put half of the pack in a crock pot and slow cooked it for a couple hours. While it was cooking I worked out using the Wii Fit for an hour, a half hour with Gold's Gym and a half hour with Just Dance. After my workout it was time for dinner. I made soft tacos out of the seasoned pork and they came out good.
In the evening we watched YouTube videos and Amazon. We watched a 2016 movie called Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, which was made from a true story. It starred Tina Frey, Margot Robbie and Martin Freeman. It was about a female journalist who recalls her wartime coverage in Afghanistan. It was a good movie except there was a lot of foul language. Then we started to watch an Amazon series called Goliath starring Billy Bob Thornton.
