A gorgeous day |
We had a gorgeous day. It was a little chilly but the sun was shining. Larry spent most of the day working on Flo's ramp. He started where he left off the other day. Today he built the sides of the ramp and the support bar. The first thing he did was cut the two boards for the sides in half. Then he cut an angle on one side of each piece of board. Next he put the boards on the ramp and decided how he was going to install them. He decided that he was going to make a slot so each board can slide over each brackets. He cut the slots with his saber saw. Once this was done he drilled the holes for the screws he was going to use to install the boards. Then he assembled the sides on the ramp. Next he tested the strength of the ramp. He felt it was strong enough for Flo but not strong enough for his weight so he decided to add more support to the center. He had a piece of aluminum left over from another project the he was able to use for the support. Once he installed the bar we tested it out and it worked out perfectly. Now we have to unassemble the ramp, sand it, stain the boards and tweak a couple of things when we reassemble the ramp.

While we were working on the ramp a neighbor whom we did not know (Colleen) stopped by. Her mailbox had been run over and she needed to replace it. She liked our mailbox and wanted to look at it. Larry showed her the mailbox and demonstrated how it works. It is a locking mailbox, the postal worker opens the mail box and places the mail in and when the mail box closes the mail drops into a compartment below that requires a key. Then he went to his Amazon account and printed out our original order for the mailbox and gave it to her. She thanked us and went on her way. In the afternoon a Woods' Flowers truck showed up. Larry and I thought it was nice that someone was getting flowers. The delivery guy said he was told to deliver the flowers to the Mailbox Santa's. We both looked at each other in confusion. Then we read the card and it was thanking us for our help on the mailbox. What a pleasant surprise.

In the evening we finished watching the last of eight Harry Potter movies, The Deathly Hallows Part 2. Then we watched KLRU Q for the rest of the night. We watched Death in Paradise, The Escape Artist Part One and Whitechaple To The End Part 1, all of the shows are detective shows. Larry had a busy day. LIFE IS GOOD!!!!
