More Flowers Blooming |
We woke up to sunshine but around 2:00 the wind came up, clouds rolled in and the temperature started to drop. The first thing we did this morning was go to The Home Depot to buy stain for the ramp, we also bought some bolts and screws to replace some we used for the ramp and some we're going to use. After shopping at The Home Depot we returned to the house. We didn't get started on the ramp project until after lunch. Larry sanded down the ramp and its parts. I was excited, now it was time for me to start staining the ramp. I was getting things ready when I read the directions on the can. As I was reading I came across that the stain was interior stain and we needed exterior. After Larry finished sanding the ramp we loaded Flo back into the car and back to town we went. The first stop was at Walmart to check out their stain. Larry prefers to have stain or paint that is water base because it's easier to clean up and it drys faster. He found one that said that it drys in an hour but we decided to wait on the stain considering we're going to Lowe's. On the way to Lowe's we stopped by Harbor Freight. When Larry was sanding down the ramp the backing pad on his electric sander broke but he was able to use the backing pad from his air sander to finish the project. He looked for the pad and didn't find the one he wanted so we left empty handed. The next stop was Lowe's where we looked at stains. He didn't find any stain that was water base but we ended up buying a water based Minwax One Coat Polyurethane. Since we were unable to find a water based stain we went back to Walmart and bought a really small can of Rust-Oleum Wood Stain. When we got back to the house it was time for dinner. So tomorrow we will start staining the ramp.
