Time for a haircut |
We woke up to temperatures in the 40's and it was a bit too cold to stain the ramp. While waiting for it to get warmer we loaded Flo in the car and off to town we went. The first stop was Planet Fitness so I could workout. I haven't been to the gym for two weeks and I knew it was going to be tough. I worked out on the treadmill for a half hour and called it a day. While at the gym Larry put our account on hold for the month of January, we're going to be in the Rio Grande Valley square dancing for at least a month and Planet Fitness doesn't have a location there. Larry's hair has gotten long and out of control so he wanted to get a hair cut before we leave. He found a hairstylist at Supercuts that does a great job and we were in the neighborhood so we stopped by. He didn't have to wait because there were two stylists working and only one customer besides Larry. After Larry got a haircut we swung by The UPS Store to check our mail. Then we started back to the house. On the way home we stopped and bought a cinnamon roll at Little Bohemian Bakery. By the time we got home it was time for lunch.

Starting to stain the ramp |

Staining the ramp with Rust-Oleum American Walnut |

Wiping off the excess stain |
After lunch we stained the ramp. The stain we used was Rust-Oleum American Walnut. The nice thing about this stain is that it only takes an hour to dry. One negative thing about the stain is that you have 2 to 3 minutes to wipe off the excess stain. The longer you leave the stain on the darker the color will be. We still need to apply the polyurethane finish to the stain, the stain said you could apply it after an hour but the polyurethane instructions said to wait 24 hours so we will wait until tomorrow. The staining came out great. After we finished staining the ramp we put all the tools we have been using to build the ramp away.

Watching television |
In the evening we watched our YouTube videos and a couple Amazon movies. The first movie was Cliffy which was a biography about an Australian potato farmer who at the age of 61 trained and ran a 200 mile marathon, it was a very good movie. The second movie was The Oldest People in the World, this was a documentary on people over 100 years old. It was a good movie. We had a very good day.
