7-4 Fourth of July

Happy Fourth of July
I hope everyone had a good Fourth of July. We had a great day. Last week at A lessons LuAnn and Dalbert invited everyone out to their house to celebrate the Fourth of July. During the week Betsy sent an e-mail asking everyone to sign up to bring a dish. I signed up to bring Heath Bars Dessert bars, I made them last night. Our little town of Belton has one of the top Fourth of July parades in the entire country and we have attended the last three of them. Since we had to drive 70 miles to get to LuAnn & Dalbert's and would be there for a good part of the day we decided to skip the parade. We avoided Interstate 35 and took the back way, it was a pretty drive with little to no traffic. LuAnn and Dalbert supplied pulled pork, brisket, beef ribs and sausage. The rest of us brought a dish. There was a lot of food. Two of the guests brought homemade ice cream (vanilla and banana nut). Dale and Wendell called six tips of square dancing. We mixed things up with a tip of all women in a square and one with all men. Another tip the women danced the men's part and the men danced the women's part, this was really fun. After eating they were setting up to play dominos, we had a long ways to go so we said our good-byes. We had a terrific time, we always enjoy spending time with friends, I have no idea why we don't do things like this more often. When we got home Flo was excited to see us, she was by herself for about eight hours.

A little later we watched a documentary on Amazon called An Ordinary Hero, it was about the civil rights movement. It was very well done. Afterwards we watched some YouTube videos on RV traveling. I worked on my puzzle until it was time for bed. We had a fun day.
