2-12 Dancing with Bear Miller and Ted Lizotte

Temple Lake Park
It was another gorgeous day. Flo had gotten used to going for a walk multiple times a day when we were in The Valley and since we have been home she has been pestering me to go for a walk. I haven't been feeling well so I have been putting her off. Well, today we gave into her. We took her to Temple Lake Park so she could go swimming. The only part of the park that is open is the boat ramp. Larry stayed in the car and read the paper while I took Flo for a swim. As we were walking the banks of the lake Flo explored, swam and visited people. We walked around for about an hour. I tried to get Flo back to the car before she got too tired but she wanted to walk farther down the banks. On the way back to the car we met a couple of chocolate labs and their master. We visited with them for a little while. By the time we got back Flo was exhausted.

Minnie Projects
When we got home the mailman had come and the parts Larry ordered for the Minnie were waiting for him in the mailbox. Larry started back on replacing the water valve. The new valve was the correct one, it fit prefect in the hole. As he was doing the project he decided he needed a couple of things to complete the project. To install the switch for the light in the closet he would need a bracket and rather than make one he thought he would just buy one. He figured since we were going to town to pick up a couple of parts anyways he would look for a bracket. We loaded Flo back into the car and we went to town. We stopped at The Home Depot and they had a connector he needed for the valve project, they also had the brackets he was looking for but they were out of the size he needed. The next stop was his mother's favorite hardware store, Ace Hardware. A brand new Ace Hardware Store opened in Belton six weeks ago. We didn't find the bracket he wanted but he did find some electrical connectors he needed. The new store is very nice and the employees were very helpful. The next stop was McCoy's, I stayed in the car while Larry went inside, he came out empty handed. Larry was getting tired of going from place to place and not finding what he wanted. He knows that he could go on the internet and order a bracket but it would take a couple of days to get in and it really isn't worth it since it is only a $3 part. The last and final stop was Lowe's, again I stayed in the car with Flo. He didn't find a bracket but he did buy some tubing. When we got home Larry went back to his project. He had the parts he needed to finish the project. It looks great.

In the evening Larry and I went to the Killeen Kickers Dance. The Kickers combined with the Copperas Cove Double C's and had the dance at Harker Heights Community Center. The callers for the dance were Bear Miller, a caller out of Denver, Colorado and Ted Lizotte who is a caller out of Manchester, New Hampshire. It was an outstanding dance. There were 12 mainstream squares, 7 plus squares and a lot of line dancers. The club served a lot of food. Bear did a outstanding job and while Ted was a creative caller he was not very enthusiastic. Everyone had a great time. We saw a lot of folks we hadn't seen in a long time.
