Camping at Dutch Charlie Recreation Area
We started our day by driving the last 20 miles of Colorado National Monument, the road took us to the top of the canyon and to the bottom. During the drive we stopped at different points of interest to admire the beauty of the canyon. We saw a coyote running across the road. We had a magnificent time at Colorado National Monument.

After leaving the monument we drove 110 miles to Ridgway State Park, it has three recreation areas to camp at the Dutch Charlie, Pa-Co-Chu-Puk and Dallas Creek, we stayed at Dutch Charlie. The park has a small reservoir for swimming, fishing and boating. There were restrooms with running water, pay showers, laundry, playground and vending machines. The sites weren’t on the lake but they did have views of the lake. Ridgway was a very nice park.
