Camping at Green River State Park

Larry drove over 200 miles the scenery was picturesque mountains and canyons. Before adventuring into the canyons we stopped at Fremont Indian State Park and Museum, where Larry and I walked through the museum and watched a movie on the park, its name came from the Fremont Indians who lived there many years ago. During construction of I70 they uncovered the largest known Fremont Indian village, Anthropologists collected artifacts such as pottery, baskets and arrowheads now they’re on display in the museum. There are petroglyphs and pictographs left behind by the Fremont Indians throughout the park and hiking trails for people to enjoy the art and park. The museum supplies the hiking trail maps and guides and pets are allowed on the trails. We hiked Parade of Rock Art Trail, which was a short paved trail around the museum to look at petroglyphs, we took Flo with us. After returning Flo to the Minnie, Larry and I hiked a couple more trails, The Court of Ceremonies and Coyote. The Court of Ceremonies Trail was a half mile and the Coyote Trail intersects with this trail. During our hike I climbed into a Pit House, where the Fremont Indians lived in and we climbed up and down a hill and over boulders and stopped to look at the petroglyphs.

We were going to stay here for the night but we somehow we missed the campground so we decided to go to Green River State Park. Green River is a beautiful park right off the Green River with trees at each site and it has a golf course. While there we walked around the campground to the boat ramp. Flo wanted to go swimming in the river but the banks were too muddy so she was disappointed again. By the time we got back to our site it was starting to cool off and Flo wanted to stay outside so we sat outside with her.
