Happy Easter
Happy Easter to everyone. We had a great day.
We had overcast skies and the high was 80 degrees. Last night we slept with the fan going and it was very comfortable. When Larry woke up he turned off the fan.
I crawled out of bed at 7:00 and made mini waffles for breakfast. Afterwards we put things away and secured. We were going to Tulsa, OK, which was 21 miles from Brush Creek Campground. We wanted to do some site seeing.
First place we were going to see was Philbrook Museum of Art. The website said that you can't park buses or RV in the parking lot because of the weight but you can park them on the street. The street was very narrow and Larry was concerned someone would hit the Minnie, all the surrounding streets were just as narrow so we passed on the visit. We were disappointed because the reviews were very good.
We moved on to Woodward Park. Woodward Park is a beautiful 45-acre park with a botanical gardens and arboretum. It also has a learning center and many other points of interest. The learning center was closed today. We walked around the park for an hour and a half. It was very well maintained. They had a rose garden but the roses died due to a disease but they had other beautiful flowers to look at. We walked all 24 points of interest. The park was very busy due to it being Easter Sunday and people were walking around taking pictures of the flowers and their families. They had a couple huge bronze sculptures: one was a Native American on a horse by Syrus E. Dallin called Appeal to the Great Spirit and the other one was a sculpture of a father and son called Planting For The Future. There were Five Moons Sculptures representing Oklahoma's International acclaimed Native American ballerinas (Yvonne Chouteau, Rosella Hightower, Moscelyne Larkin, Maria Tallchief and Marjorie Tallchief). They had a very nice arboretum, where they grew different types of cactus. The ventilation system was cool, you turned a crank and a gear mechanism would open and close the ventilation panels. There was a cool sculpture in the middle of a fountain. While we were walking around a few adults were hiding Easter eggs around the gardens. Then they let their kids out of the car to look for them. We saw a lot of people and their dogs. We had a super walk around the park. There was a lot to see.

Next stop was the Golden Driller statue. It was located at the expo center. It was a huge statue. Do you see me standing at the bottom?

After visiting the Golden Driller we continued our adventure down Route 66. Larry wanted to walk through an art museum. Before doing so we parked in an old church parking lot and had lunch. We were going to leave the Minnie there but they had security signs saying no trespassing. We moved the Minnie to the parking lot of the museum, which was only about a block away. We were disappointed when we got to the doors of the museum because it was closed due to it being Easter. That was ok because there was a cool souvenir store called Buck's on Route 66. It was closed but it had cool stuff outside and in the windows. They had robots made of different metal things. We took a few pictures of Buck's.

After taking pictures we decided to go back to the campground. As we were leaving Tulsa we saw a sign for Osage Casino. Larry asked if I wanted to gamble a little. I said sure. It was only 1.7 miles off the highway. It was very small and didn't have any free sodas. There wasn't a non-smoking area. I gambled for about two hours and came back with the same amount of money I left with. I had fun. While I was gone Larry got caught up with his groups he follows on the internet.

We were back at the campground by 3:30. For dinner we finished up the pasta bake. Then I walked the Wellness Trail three time. I was going to walk another time but I stopped and visited with a few locals. They recommended a few places to see in the area. While I was walking I had wind so it kept the walk comfortable. When I got back to the Minnie I finished my steps. I ended up doing 17,000. This put me in 9th place in my group for the week with 98,000 steps. I did a lot better than I thought I would. I only missed the 100k challenge by 2,000 steps.
For dessert I made Martha White Blueberry Cheesecake muffins. They were very good. We had a great Easter.
