Welcome sign to campground
We woke up to a brisk morning with the temperatures in the 30's. It was breezy all day. It got to 70 degrees in Jefferson City but it didn't feel like it because of the breeze.
We spent three nights at Lake of the Ozark State Park and had a great time but it's time to move on. I woke up about 7:00 and made orange rolls for breakfast. Then we put things away and secure. We were on the road around 8:00. On the way out of the park we stopped at the dump station to fill our fresh water tank. While doing this Larry decided to dump the tanks.
Afterwards we were ready to leave. Larry drove 65 miles on four lane highways.
Our next destination was Jefferson City. Jefferson City is the state capitol and when we go through a state we try to stop by the capitol building. Larry made reservations to tour the capitol building on Tuesday. When we arrived in Jefferson City we drove around the Capital to see where it was and check out the parking. Many times we find a place near the Capital where we can park the Minnie, unfortunately we did not find any parking that would work. The legislature is in session so the area was quite busy, there was available parking but nothing for the Minnie.
Larry made reservations at the city park for two nights but we couldn't check-in until 2:00. They made it very clear not to arrive early. There is a huge park on the west side of the lake with a lot of hiking trails, we thought we would park there and go hiking. We drove around the park and while there was parking none of it was suitable for an RV, it was either too small or on the side of a hill. We ended up going to a Walmart. That was ok because we needed a couple of items I forgot the other day.
While we were relaxing with a book at Walmart the security guard came by and asked Larry if we were going to spend the night there. Larry told him no we were just waiting to check-in at the park. The guy said he just wanted to let us know that no overnight parking was allowed at the Walmart. He also said for us to have a great visit. Lots of Walmart stores don't allow overnight parking but they always have signs saying no overnight parking, this Walmart did not have any signs.
When 2:00 came around we went back to the park and checked-in. The lady was very friendly and told us where our site was. We had no problem finding the site. We backed the Minnie in the site and then we unloaded the motorcycle, we're going to ride it to town in the morning. Once the motorcycle was unloaded Larry hooked us up to power. The name of the park is Binder Park.
It's a gorgeous park and very well maintained. Once we were setup for a couple of nights Larry went over to check out the bathrooms. He had read that they weren't that nice, when he came back he said they were old but very clean and perfectly fine, much better than some others we have used.
We spent the rest of the day relaxing with a book. I did the event , which was Solitaire World Tour of 30 games. I ended up doing only 28 of the 30 because I just ran out of time. I played it for 2 hours, 52 minutes and 0 seconds, which put me in 9th place in my group.
When it was time for dinner Larry barbecued hamburgers. After dinner I walked around for an hour and a half to get my steps. As I was walking people asked me how many miles I walk a day. I told them about 5 to 6 miles. I ended up doing 17,000 steps, which put me in 4th place in my group.
